stephon marbury stars in "the million dollar baby"....

LOL!!!!!

Good movie BTW. Although the ending was one of those "wow, that sucks" type deals. They really pushed it hard with that.

A Marbury reality tv show would be pure comedy.

Marbury has made so much money, it is hard to imagine that he will go broke. Guys who make $3-$6 million a year for only 4-5 years are the ones who usually go broke after making a few bad decisions. Guys at Marbury's level usually make so much money that they can recover from their mistakes. This dude is going to make $20.4 million this year alone. It is hard to blow that kind of money unless you are a total idiot.

Thus the concern....
https:// It's not so hard.

Good point about being able to play again, if only had agreed. All of that hype about how he didn't say a thing, while sitting and waiting. And then he started to make the point about how he didn't say a thing, breaking his word not be say a thing by speaking and then bad mouthing all over again. He's a phony and he's been exposed. He exposed himself. Marbury did it all to himself. Perfect example of what not to do when investing in your best commodity. Yourself. Representation means everything in the world of business. Marbury is finished and the sooner he is gone, the sooner we won't be talking about it anymore.

He is a phony we all know what he is about but even then he did nothing wrong this year. He absolutely came into training camp very lean and in great shape. He was not happy to hear he would be a reserve but he accepted it and played well during preseason. Then he got flat out ditched.

To be honest I don't fault him for being upset. Also he does have a guaranteed contract and it's very easy for us to sit here and say F-Him and expect him to give up 3, 5, 8 million dollars because we dislike him. Yet I have no problem with him refusing to do so. Imagine what he can do with that money for his family and his charitable contributions? Hate him all we want as a player but the man is a GREAT community man so I don't fault him for not accepting a ludicrous buy out.

Now as I said it's come down to the fact that no matter what we have to pay him. So does our owner accept a 1M (2M with tax) grace on his monster contract? Of which is already fully half paid to him to do nothing? Or is it so imperitive we don't allow him to join another team and hurt us (as if we're in any position to be hurt by him going anywhere) or do we really want to punish him (deny him a chance to play well and get a decent 3 year MLE contract in the offseason)???

That's what it has come down to.

My instinct still says just accept the 1M off of the 11M still owed, know you're actually saving 2M, and you're putting the mess to bed. On the other hand if we just tell him to stay home and pay him his full 11M still owed that's probably fine too - it's now so late in the season and it's dragged on so long that there's no healing to be gained by parting ways anymore.

Regardless I wish it would just end. One way or another. A final statement no matter what it is.

Cosmic, why does it have to be about being vindictive on Donnie's part? Again, I don't follow the logic. If I'm Donnie I'm paying him 20 plus million. It's coming out of my team's pocket anyway. So why would I pay him 20 plus million to play elsewhere? Why not pay him 20 plus million and try to trade him to get something out of it? If I'm paying 20 plus million why would I just give up on trying to get something out of it? Why is Marbury owed the chance to play somewhere else. He was the one that signed the contract.

agreed. Walsh is playing a game of chicken with other teams; this won't be settled until the deadline.

How? The Knicks have had the upper hand this whole time and haven't given Marbury any leverage besides the fact that he's being paid to do nothing. Meanwhile, his game is probably eroding.

There is a price for freedom. For him its 3mm. What he has done to this organization warrants no consideration for his desire.

For now he is a potential trade tool.

I just want him to expire, I don't want to give him what he wants, which is a buyout. We made it through half a season, we can make it through the other half. He takes his money and moves on. He's talented enough to justify a full MLE from other teams, but i don't think anyone else will pay him more unless they are desperate for wins and they bring him in and let him do his thing.

Bip, why is it that you can't spell ass correctly? There's no e... unless maybe you're French.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
