Actually, Lee's numbers would probably rise with LeBron on his side, b/c of his passing ability and Lee's ability to move without the ball. Plus, LeBron's no chucker. With Bosh, Lee's numbers would probably stay around the same, considering that Bosh plays on the outside just as much as he plays in the inside.

i completely disagree... a Lebron & D Lee combo will never win u any championships IMO... that would be more akin to what Lebron's already got now w/Big Z & Varejao at his side (the combo of the 2)... i personally don't think CLE is gonna win it this year, but obviously i could be wrong, they're playing really well... still, i bet u everything i own that Lebron would much rather be playing w/Bosh right now than Big Z & Varejao, & the same would hold true if we were talking about D Lee.

David Lee has to make a decision. Does he want a go at winning a championship or just grab the money and run. A lot of these players are selfish anyway. D Lee might take 7mil and get the rest on the back end or he really don't want to play with a winner in New York.
The other way is Dolan just do some buyouts and get it over with. Big Snacks and Curry really don't have any pride at all. They are getting paid big time so D Lee wants his.
We just can't let D Lee walk. We will be forced to sign him and then if we must we trade him and as sorry as this team is we really don't know how good Lee really is. We have an idea.

even if he accepts a back loaded contract, the cap hit will still likely be about the $10 mil mark by 2010... there's no way u can re-sign him & still have the cap space to sign 2 max players in 2010 unless u can dump Curry's contract & even then u still have to clear about $4 mil more in cap space to make that happen, meaning u also have to dump Fishlips' contract or trade Gallo & Chandler.

TMS what makes you think Bosh and Lebron even want to play here. What is the plan if you dont get any of these guys? Another 5 years of rebuilding? Bosh cant win at tornonto and they have built around him. Go sign Lee, get me a max FA like Bosh, draft a guard then in 2011 you have a team that a free agent wants to play with. I dont see these guys wanting to play with a team that is gutted which you have to do to get two free agents.

first u ask me why i think Lebron & Bosh would want to play here then u say the plan should be to re-sign Lee & Bosh... u can't have it both ways dude.

if we miss out on Lebron & can only sign Bosh in 2010, then it makes a ton more sense to me to have the cap space to sign Joe Johnson rather than use up that cap space to retain D Lee.

i wish u guys would get off that "No FA will want to come to a gutted roster" argument because it's basically the same thing we're talking about here... u replace D Lee w/another big money FA in that scenario... which one do u think would appeal to a max player like Bosh or Lebron? playing alongside another max FA or playing alongside D Lee?

Lee doesnt have to make any decision his job is to play. They could have gotten him cheaper by signing this summer so now you're saying take a discount because he is having a good year. Walsh had all the leverage at the start of the year and now he is losing it. I think you sign Lee get one guy in 2010 and one in 2011.

King 1---the way David is playing he is worth 6 years 72mm----if you were an agent looking out for his best interests and doing fair comps---isn't that your fiduciary responsibility to Lee?

We saw so many this 2-star all-the-rest-junk teams which fall short so many times.
Why so many people want to repeat this mistake again in NY?

Briggs I have no idea what he is worth I am just happy he is hitting his jumper and competing on defense, and rebounding. I know he wants to play in New York and loves it here and all he talks about is winning in this city

why would u wanna repeat this 1-star 1-good player all-the-rest-junk teams which fall short so many times? u'r not even making sense here... if u think having 2 max stars doesn't give us a better shot at winning a championship than having 1 max guy & D Lee, i don't know what to tell u at this point.

Its not about the 2-star all-the-rest-junk. You need real stars to have a decent chance at winning the championship. Once you have the, you get them solid players, through draft, FA or whatever, that can help the cause.

We will probably have some talent still on the team with the 2009 pick, Chandler, Gallo, probably Nate, Lee, Duhon etc. That would be decent enough to start.

Exactly. Will he be sentimental enough, love to play in NY and winning in this city enough to cut some millions enough to help the Knicks cap and get better players?

The Knicks need to do whatever they can possibly do to build a better team, whether if it means trading Lee or signing him.

The only thing David has to do to help the Knicks pursue 2 free agents in 2010 is wait to sign his extention until the summer of 2010.

how is that gonna happen? he turns FA after this season... u really think he's gonna take a 1 year qualifying offer when his value is at an alltime high?

Knicks can make him the QO and keep him, I think that's the way the rookie contracts work. So, he is a FA in summer of 2010.

Lee can accept offers THIS summer if he wants, but the new contract would not start until 2010 season.
