the worst injury in the world is to have a back injury. Why? Because it hurts so much? No because everyone thinks you are lying.

I had a back injury last year. It kept me from shoveling snow all winter. My wife had to do it all winter long. This year I shovel my driveway, my neighbors driveway, the local bowling alley. I shovel people's roofs to prove to them that I was not trying to get out of shoveling last year, that I really had a bad back. Still, no one believes me.

I think you're lying. To prove you're not, you'll have to come down to NYC shovel the sidewalk in front of my building next time it snows.

I already have a fund raiser planned. I'm going to travel to the Himilayas and shovel all the snow off the mountains. I will shovel year round and all donations will go to all the lying bastards around the world who don't really have bad backs, just psychological problems.

Back injurys are not all the same. Which disc? Extent to bulge? IS the Disc material out? Are there spurs growing? Has is calcified?

TJ ford has a Stenois condition in his spine that is NARROWING and it won't ever go away. He can still play.

I broke my neck 25 years ago and 7 years a go two discs blew, and two are bulging. I got various opinions ranging from rest, fusion and tough it out and keep going. If the numbness continued I would have had to had surgery (fusion). It came and went. The headaches were pretty bad, but they came and went. Then More exercise and they were less frequent. Bottom line is the body adapted and healed. I was very lucky, and still have surgery as an option one day.

Looking at Gallo the kid looks real young and skinny. His upside is tremendous and I never thought he would be an real impact rookie. He looks all of 6-11 and can have a real nice career. If his back is not 100% why put a skinny rookie out there against these mack truck players and risk worse? You protect an investment.

Good for the Clips and Eric Gordon. ONe day we might decide we did good or lost on the draft pick. ITs a hit or miss business and one don't know.

He might be better than Dirk for all we know. Took Dirk 3 years to look like he was teh right choice. ANd funny enough Milwaukee traded Tractor Traylor for him. Straight up!

Back then fat big guys were all the rage and skinny Euro's had little cred.

Yeah, but you dont either --- thats the problem. Bip brought up a great point, to conspiracy theorists it comes across as a husband trying to get out of doing the chores by saying his back hurts. Why are they so secretive and why cant they get specific.

I think that is reasonable. Have a doctor explain why he is not playing. 7 months is way to long to not be able to play at 19 years old. Saying Don Mattingly or Larry Bird is ridiculous--these guys had huge mile son them. Saying we don't know is pain is absurd too---19 years old--when you are 19--you can go through walls. I didn't read where a doctor said he was to injured to not play basketball. Explain to the fan why he is not playing for so long. Certain coaches like Bobby Knight would've put him on the pssy list.

Nail on the head. I think that's where the frustration level comes in with the fans. I've had to personally just tell myself that it must be bad if they arne't playing him. At this point I have no answer so I try not to speculate.

You know. …the more I read this thread and the more I think about it --- the angrier I get. Briggs is dead on, bullseye about this B.S. Get his ASS OUT THERE AND PLAY! Pain is a natural part of the game. Either there is something medically wrong with him, or you play. Simple. Even at a rookie salary we are paying him a lot of money. You don’t just sit on the sidelines because you are not 100%.

Look at T-Mac. His back is flucked. He plays unless he physically cant move. Gallo is acting as if his back is just giving him discomfort. So he doesn’t play????? And we get no answers as to why????? This shyt is insulting. You all should be insulted. Tell me whats going on. Bulging disks, spinal issues. I want a doctors note or some shyt.

This season is going down the tubes, which is coupled by the fact that there are other draft picks that are lighting it up. The spotlight is on this punk now.

Call me reactionary, but as of now I’m leaning towards the idea that Gallo is a straight up pvssy that is having second thoughts about being in the league. Given the pressure and scrutiny involved, Walsh and D’antoni are trying to squirrel him away and baby him until he grows a sack. This is unacceptable and disturbing.

If its that bad, grab a scalpel, get him on a table and cut him. If not put an orange and blue jersey on his ass and tell him to suck it up. This wont be the last time you’re “kinda not feeling well’…

Hopefully they are purposefully not playing Gallo so that he can work out and get stronger while allowing the Knicks to (1) tank the season and get a high draft pick (cause we all no Gallo's shot is ridiculous), (2) showcase other players that will not be on the team in 2010 and (3) work Chandler out at other positions to see if can fit as either a 2 guard or a PF.

But in reality, its clear that Gallo needed more work before being NBA ready, maybe they are using this season to accomplish that. I haven't seen that his back is a problem, I have only heard that he isn't ready.

BTW, where are all the people who were hoping to trade up for Beasley? The draft isn't a no-brainer and what things look like after the first year may not be how they end up. I wasn't delighted with the Gallo pick, I wanted Mayo at all cost, but I am not ready to gie up on Gallo either...

Welcome back to reality. where have you been, in a cave for 7 months?? You haven't heard his back was a problem? A conspiracy to keep him out and secretly work him out at midnight so he is ready for the NBA. The NBA its FANTASTIC. You can't make this stuff up.

Note to everyone here. If you ever have a bad back that prevents you from doing anything, stab yourself in the groin and save yourself some trouble.

My back injury was without a doubt the most debilitating injury I ever had. But unless you've gone through it you'll never know.......

There are 3 possible scenarios
1.) He has a legitimate back problem that prevents him from playing
2.) He has a legitimate back problem, could play but the team will not let him play until he is 100% because they know his future if more important than him helping us win 1 more game this year. Or showing the Clippers that our pick is as good as theirs. Or getting the fans to stop crying.
3.) He is a pansy asse that could play, but is faking an injury.

All 3 scenarios are possible. Why get yourself all bent out of shape on one of these 3 options when we really don't know anything?
