The Clippers will receive Quentin Richardson, Malik Rose and Sergio Rodriguez. One source has said the trade should be complete by next week. All salaries/.roster spots work out for all teams….

Really boils down to Lee for Jordan and Bayless since those 2 would be the long term pieces we'd keep here, and Lee is the major piece we'd be giving up. That's 2 pretty good young prospects that we'd be controlling for cheap...

This would be a slam dunk if Jefferies could be subbed for Q or Malik (and thus save us another 7 mil in 2010), but its still reasonably compelling right now.

Camby is obviously a great short term answer for Lee's productivity.

I would have to agree...that's a lot of moving parts a pretty awful trade for the Clips, who get two forked players and only one decent prospect back for Camby and Jordan...

I don't think anyone wants to just flat out get rid of David Lee. What it is, as I've tried to illustrate and probably not so well, is that we're looking to execute the John Gabriel 2-max-FA summer plan (he did it with orlando, he was brought in here to help do it here). That summer is 2010. You sign Lee to a lucrative contract (which he deserves) you cannot execute the aforementioned plan. Is David Lee a good enough player to give up on a 2nd max FA? A number of people think not. That's why you see people figuring out trades involving David Lee.

That is very interesting.

NY Recieves: Camby, Frye, Jordan, Bayless, Hart
NY Trades: Lee, QRich, Malik

That's a very good package. I hope that source is right. I wonder why the Clippers are making this trade though?

Interesting? Thats an unbelievable package if DW can pull that off. Dumping Q along with Lee, and getting prospects like Bayless and Jordan, not to mention Camby and Frye who I think is tailor made for this system. I just can't believe Dunleavy would make that trade. But then again......

I'd be very surprised if that trade went down.

Would be a good trade for us though

first off thanks martin, I know you're always paying attention.

Secondly guys in fairness, you can blast my site if you want. I have already built some credibility, but this is not about me, never has been. Let's just be clear.

I have sources around the league (not that difficult when you know the right people) and i had someone post the clippers deal in my comment section. I got on the phone and no one had heard of it but I heard plenty of rumblings that the Blazers have a man crush on lee for the reason stated. They appear to be interested in making a move.

For me there would have to be a third team involved, but I haven't confirmed with sources ( or the people who helped me break the Randolph trade 15 minutes before Alan hahn as well as Marbury suiting up. I also had Harrington for Crawford on the radar in July. It's on the blog check it out) about this clippers thing, so at this point I'm not putting my name to it.


Can someone please defend the rack?

They could have! Up until the draft, reports had D'Antoni and Bayless being connected in some way???? Bayless had said he was familiar with the D'Antoni system... and watched several tapes of Steve Nash. If the Knicks had elected to draft a guard, we had 3 targets (Gordon, Westbrook and Bayless)... As you know, the Knicks opted for The Rooster instead.. hahaha.

I like Bayless.. I think he can score. I doubt that he is a point guard in the truest sense of the word, however he does have upside and would look good here in NY. If we get back a #1 pick... that would be cool as well.
