"I'm earning my check by doing nothing," Marbury said. "I'm enjoying it to the fullest. I can go in and out of the country when I want during the season. They'll make a decision when they're ready to make a decision. I'm getting healthy, adding two, three years to my career. This has been great for me, able to heal."

Asked why he attended, Marbury said, "I just wanted to see the game. I miss it a lot. It's the closest I can get to the game right now."

just let him rot the rest of the season... this joke of an NBA player deserves to become a complete afterthought... you're a JOKE Marbs!

I hate Berman. Since I stopped clicking his articles to read them my life has been happier.

dude looked like he was gizzing all over himself interviewing Marbs in the stands during the game.

btw, is it me or does Berman bear a strange resemblence to this guy:

The latest Berman article was painful to read. He is trying so hard to make the average fan care about Marbs. Does anyone? Do you think more than 5% of the fans actually want him added to the roster? Do you give a moments thought to Marbs when there is no article to read about his hilarity. That latest article made berman(marbs) sound so bitter about how the players/fans didn't care. He tried his darndest to somehow give off the impression that the players are bothered by him. They go and take the Lakers to the wire and somehow they are bothered? He even at some point mentioned that they were jealous of that national attention he receives. Has Berman heard the type of attention he receives? All people do is make fun of him. when my brotehr was 6 and getting into trouble a lot just for attention, he probably would have been jealous of Marbs. Most grown men that are secure in themselves would prefer no attention to negative attention. That article wasn't just poorly written, it sounded bitter and immature. It sounded like a child fighting for his friend.

Personally I love Berman and I love Marbs. They do provide me with entertainment. But I really could care less aobut Marbs as a basketball player. He did nothing positive for us. He led a team to 23 wins, 33 wins and 23 wins. He was a major source of controversy 5 or 6 times. The team is playing it's best ball since his arrival. I do not care where his basketball career goes. I think of him more of a future reality tv show star than anythign else.

Add pathetic to that list, Bip.

But it's all good since "he's getting paid to do nothing" while middle-class folks are about to face mass transit hikes and taxes on water.

Sorry to deviate but that quote annoyed me.

Good Knicks-Lakers game notes:

http://slamonline.com/online/nba/2008/12/game-notes-knicks-at-lakers/

"I grew up in New York during those heady times, when Saturday nights at the Garden were hotter tickets than Ali-Frazier bouts, when "hit the open man" epitomized unselfish ball movement, when the City was basketball Mecca, home to playground legends and NBA championships."

I like the inference that now "hit the open man" means to punch Marbury in the mouth.
