I like Curry + Jeffries for Diaw and Bell. That clears space.

lol, i was just about to post the same thing, but CHA would have to toss in another $3 mil to make it work.

Yup. salaries don't match. Buy what incentive does CHA have to do this trade? Does LB think he can resuscitate Curry's career?

The salaries match according to RealGM: http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=4872266

that's strange... just doing the figures in my head, Curry's making $9.7 mil this season, $700K more than Diaw, & Jefferies makes $6 mil while Raja makes $5 mil... that's a difference of $1.7 mil... i guess the difference is still w/in the acceptable range in comparison to the total dollars?

curry is an unmotivated sloth.

BUT, if you can restore his confidence, then having him at center with ok4 at the pf spot concentrating on defense + rebounding actually creates a very complimentary front court.

if you're larry, would you rather have diaw for 3 more years after this one or curry for 2? i would rather take a chance on curry for 2.

if you are CHA, what type of deal would you want for Diaw, Bell and/or others that NY would accept?

bell = $5 mil
diaw = $9 mil
morrison = $4.2 mil

curry = $9.8 mil
lee = $1.8 mil
malik = $7.7 mil

$18.2 mil for $19.3 mil

why would u wanna make a deal like that? it adds longterm salary to our books & we're giving up the best player to boot... throw CHA's 1st rounder in there unprotected & maybe u might have something there.

yeah man, no way Knicks don't get back a #1 pick.

Where are we adding salary?

Diaw = Curry's deal in length and $
Rose is expiring but Bell's deal only has 1 more year.

Lee's new deal will be 4-5 years at about $6M - $9M per -- and Morrison is only owed $4.2M per thru next year.

It looks like Charlotte would be taking on $$ to me.

Diaw's contract expires a year after Curry's does according to Hoopshype... that's another $9 mil on the books longterm... & u don't figure in what D Lee's going to make next year when ur talking about trading him this season... u have to treat him just like any other expiring contract because it will be up to the team trading for him to re-sign him or not.

Larry Brown likes JJ. Curry performs well for Larry and is a good fit for Okafor. This could work...JJ/Curry for Diaw and Bell.

Although that is my initial want, I would much rather not have Diaw's contract on board for 2010-11.

You know what I would do in a second on Feb 11th? Eddy Curry for Raja Bell, Sean May, and Shannon Brown. Great trade for both teams. Raja get's reconnected with MDA, May and Brown come off the salary this year, we free up another 11.3 mil in 2010-11 and Charlotte gets a AT HIS WORST 7 foot guy who can get 13 pts and 6 rbds. Fair to everyone.

This Is Madness (my sincere apology for the bootleg post)

rrini- put down the trade checker and step away from the vehicle

I repeat, Eddy Curry has not played a single game this season and (in light of Cuttino Mobley's heart examination) is probably having second thoughts about why he is playing ball in the first place. He is overweight and out of shape. Curry is fragile, sensitive and needs a mentor to guide him. The pre-season infection (that caused him to miss training camp) may have been caused by an unsanitary tatoo needle.

why does Charlotte covet him again?

It seems to me that Diaw duplicates Lee. Diaw is a better passer, but Lee is a better rebounder. If the choice is between being stuck with Curry or stuck with Diaw, then obviously we take Diaw. But I am sure Walsh's focus is getting rid of Curry without taking on a salary that does not end by the 2009-10 season.

Double Negatives Are Confusing

TheGame - did you intend to say, "...without taking on a salary that extends past the 2009-10 season."?

if Donnie Walsh can shed Eddy Curry and pick up a talented player with a contract of equal length, I will lead the parade down Broadway.

I would love to have Diaw... but not at the $$ he's making. I agree with a previous post, that unless we got rid of Curry and Jeffries, we can't justify taking Diaw's monster deal.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

That could work. Remember Larry Brown's an old coot now who doesn't nearly evaluate talent as well as he thinks he does and Jordan 'the executive' is not all he's cracked up to be so far - I could see him deferring to Brown. How many times ya think Larry's been in Jordan's office demanding trades already this season?? The guy's a real piece of work... Hearing Charlotte's interest in Curry is a real good thing - let's hope something comes of it. Gun to my head, I think I'd rather have Diaw than Curry moving forward - Diaw can play, D'Antoni would help get his numbers back up, and you figure he'd be much easier to move than Curry next year. Obviously you'd want more of a salary dump type deal for Curry, but this wouldn't be terrible.

if u could get Raja, Mike Sweetney light & a backup PG for Curry it's a no brainer for us... maybe the Bobcats make a run at AI after this season & reunite him w/LB... having a low post presence could be a good complement to AI's style of game, & the Bobcats have the types of complementary players that can account for Curry's lazy butt when it comes to rebounding & defense (OK4 & G Wallace).

another deal i would consider is Curry for Nazr & Raja... we would save $4 mil in 2010 off the cap if we made that trade & Nazr's contract might be more tradeable than Eddy's in a year's time... plus he's a much better defender in the frontcourt than Eddy is & would provide a solid backup for D Lee at the C position for the next year or 2 if he's still here... the Bobcats are barely using him as it is so it's not even a loss for them.

You'd think with the tens of millions of dollars Curry is making that he could get a proper tattoo done.
