I feel he would've really enjoyed and excelled playing at this quick pace. D'Antoni just doesn't care for the guy, that plus he's made this organization look bad so many times... What are ya gonna do? He'll be gone soon...

Marbury would've excelled, but the team wouldn't have- that's why D'Antoni doesn't care for the guy. If Marbury could implement his system and generate the kind of ball movement D'Antoni wants he may never have been shipped out of Phoenix and certainly wouldn't have been so quickly replaced by a far less talented player in Duhon here.

if Marbury had the brains to match his talent he woulda been 1 of the greatest PG's ever.

after watching MDA interview, starting about at min 9 , he talk about skill vs. talent. If i understood him correctly, talent is something you are born with, like playing hard, skill is a learned thing. well with that logic , Marbs has tremendous skill but lasks talent.
and if i was to add to that, a talented person does many things beter, it doesn't just apply to 1 area. Skill is associated with something specific, like being able to score, rebound etc

not really , I actually find this whole situation funny. Yesterday for instance, everyone on the Knicks bench was clapping and cheering their team on, Marbury didnt even budge, no clapping, no high five-ing, no nothing. It was hilarious, I guess he is not really on this team, which makes having him here a distraction we could live without. Hopefully they come to a buyout soon, which they should. Some team should be willing to give this man something and maybe Knicks management can save the difference.

Throughout his tenure in NY, specially the last couple of years, and the way he has responded to this situation realy tell you why D'Antoni didn't want anything to do with him. Steph is all about himself and thats completely opposite D'Antoni's philosophy of a basketball team. You think Mike doesn't know how Steph clashed with Larry? Of his relationship with Isiah? Of the way he left the team? He knows Steph wants to have the power and be in control of any situation he is part of. He would've been great for this team talent-wise, but his attitude would have this team 1-8 and worse, showing no improvement. This just had to happen for the real culture change to happen. D'Antoni knew it even before signing his contract. He played Marb because Walsh wanted to see if he could get value for him in a trade, since he hates buying out contracts. But once the calendar showed real games started, Marbury was gone.

And with Dolan not wanting to give him the whole money of his contract, Walsh still not loving the buyout idea and Marbury wanting to show he still has the control, this could last long and the only one that can look bad down the road is Marbury. He will explode someday and he will prove the Knicks are doing the right thing and he will have to accept less money to leave.

After all this years, he still doesn't get it and never will. Nothing embarrasses him anymore.
