Hasn't it only been 4 months?

That is a long time for what was first described by Walsh as a sore back and he's all right statement.

4 months and you first prescribe rest. If he is not responding then you look at alternatives. 20 year olds are still growing and gallo does not have his man strength yet. Getting flattened by Tractor Traylor is not small feat.

As long as he does not have a spinal stenosis or other degenerative condition this is not a career problem.

Damaged goods chalk it up and move on. This is the Knicks how many thing have they basically moved on from just another Fred Weis.

It really is surreal. How are you out close to 5 months for a supposed minor back injury after playing just one game? This kid needs to go to a specialist because there is obviously something going on that is not going to heal simply through rest.

Trust the Process

The real reason Walsh traded for Pat Ewing was to get rid of the French Euro with bad back- not to add Patrick.

In addition to not buying out contracts, Walsh has a roster limit of one first round pick squandered on a bad-backed Euro per roster rule.

That, or his spine suffers from Euro-Softie disease.

No one ever wants to look bad for decisions they make.

But an initial bad decision can be followed by good ones.

I feel the organization has compounded Gallo's issue by not addressing it correctly.

He should have been shut down after it was clear he couldn't play in the preseason

LOL, the PR department propted Gallo up too quickly to make a couple of fans happy............ never would have guessed that would happen

Maybe if he spent the season in Jeffries cryogenic chamber he would be able to play in next years summer league games.

Shut him down this season and let him have surgery. No need to mess him up more.

If I was a journalist--I would be looking into questions about when exactly Gallinari first had any type of symptom and if that time was before the draft.

I agree with the first part, its the second part. Moving on will be next to impossible, knowing that we missed out on OJ Mayo The 08 draft will haunt this franchise for the next decade plus. That trade was in our grasp.

On a positive note, had he been playing he probably would be helping this offense. So, at least this increases our lottery odds (unless you are the Chicago Bulls or Portland). Speaking of, imagine how Portland felt and feels regarding Oden.

I hope the kid does eventually get back to health. It's one thing to criticize a pick but another to never really see them play (healthy).

IF anyone is in touch with anyone in the Knicks, PLEASE HAVE THEM CONTACT DR. SARNO. The guy does miracles with backs and without surgery. (IT really helped my ruptured disk - now healed (yes, it went from 10mm to almost nothing). http://www.healingbackpain.com/

Looking at the fact that he is on the record as saying he camp into summer camp with back problems you have to assume that the Knicks knew he was damaged goods. They were probably hoping he wasn't that hurt......... up until this point in Danillos career, they are dead wrong.

You know what, WHERE IS PLAYA??? Call him whatever you want, but his theory that the Knicks were going to take Gallo at all costs seems pretty spot on.

Yeah and so is his theory that there would be no election because George Bush was going to extend his term.

I would say for his constant ranting on how there was going to be martial law and that there would be no election, and how George Bush was going to F' the country up beyond anyone's belief. He was doing it in every thread, seemingly and accusing all people for being nuts for not agreeing with it.

There was a point when some people actually did start to take his side.

lol, yeah duke had some thoughts in his head thats for sure. To be fair, a lot of people said the same thing about Bush and given how the past eight years have gone, there was reason to be somewhat paranoid and skeptical.
