Iverson is a $20M expiring and Billups is still owed $50M over this year and 3 more after that.

Pistons have a young point in Stuckey to replace Chauncey and will use Iverson's cash to get younger after he expires.

as David Aldridge said on NBA TV covering this trade, DET is now in a great position to target Chris Bosh in 2010... i don't see Lebron wanting to go to DET... it'll be NY where he'll want to come if anything otherwise he'll just stay in CLE.

but hey, what good is cap flexibility in planning for the future success of one's franchise? Joe Dumars is clearly clueless.

Interesting, though i've always had a different view on this. they needed prince to be playing major minutes to win the championship imo, ,which likely wouldn’t have happened if melo were there. i think prince's d, unselfishness, shot-blocking and ability to complement the others was essential. i don’t think melo gives them any of that and crates chemistry problems with his chucking, ball-hogging and no d. and remember they came within one quarter of repeating against an excellent san antonio team while going through the distractions of the larry brown defection hullababloo.

i always wanted to see them use the pick on wade. a 3-man backcourt of rip, chauncey and dwade is just incredible. plus I think that dwade could have also gotten minutes at sf next to rasheed and a younger dominant ben along with that big backcourt.
