Congratulations for making such a stupid post. What's next? Is OJ Mayo going to be Anthony Roberson now that he went 5-20 from the field in his debut game? Some people on here amaze me.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Don McLean was a very good college player. He is the all time leading scorer at UCLA and in the Pac-10, was a first round pick and a decent NBA player. It is no foregone conclusion that Galinari will be better than McLean.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

People tend to forget what KVH was at one point.

Van Horn was a huge part of the Nets run to the finals and came up big in a lot of games, especially against Boston.

I think talking about how he isn't tough is really B.S. He rebounded well and drove to the basket hard frequently finishing with jams in people's faces. He was just injury prone.

oohah

You are right. I think KVH was tough, but that was the knock against him by fans. And really the only knock whether it was right or wrong that was the view of the fans. But if we are comparing skills with KVH and Gallinari there should be no complaint.

Oh, I saw the game. I didn't see the future that Eny saw. As in sorry I didn't see it last nite. But it's ok, everyone has their favorites. Gallo is one of yours. So you get more touchy on the subject. I get more sensitive over Chandler, Nate and I am starting to get really touchy about the Lee criticism just to under pay him.

Ok, I can agree with that. I don't think I can see the "future" from three minutes either, can't knock your assessment. Damn, it's hard just to communicate with words.

By the way, I absolutely love Chandler and to a lesser degree Nate, though I haven't posted much on either. Nate may really become something special, but he is transforming in front of our eyes. It's like we don't really know what he can become. This year is going to be special in a developmental sense. Chandler to me has star written on him. He has all the tools and is smart, I wouldn't say off the charts smarts (like in my mind Gallo has), but he has enough to be a star in his own way. Perhaps Gallo and Chandler and very complimentary players in that regard, with their skillset. I think in this offense, we will see "higher ceilings".

Love Lee as well, I say let this year decide his pay. We will see if his lack of (previous) offense hurts him this year.

Looking forward to seeing some Gallo tonight. Feel like we are putting a bit of pressure on it all, but it's a fun ride getting to see a rookie actually get some playing time.

I think that is a really bad comparison though. From memory I didn't think McLean had athleticism though had some smarts. At the next level his lack of athleticism just limited what he did have too much. Didn't he have an injury? I remember he sure could score in college. I was really wondering what he would be in the NBA and don't remember much of him, but really only followed the Knicks. Saw him play a lot in the Pac 10 as I followed AZ.

At the same age Gallo has much better athleticism (and size?), intelligence and their offensive game is/was both great. Just think Gallo showed more clever play in Europe but we'll see how that translates to the NBA. Defensively I'd give the edge to Gallo as well, due to a bit more speed and smarts, but again, that remains to really be seen.

Correct me on this one, as it's from memory as I said.

I liked Van Horn.. but he had a confidence issue and wasnt the same without JAson Williams and Sam Cassell. That being KVH was a physical player, but he was NOT a tough player. He would fight for rebounds and wasnt afraid of contact but the dude wilted under pressure time and time again

Van Horn was stronger and slower. He never had Gallo's handle. Few big men do. Van Horn did have a 3 point shot. I'm guessing that Gallo's will be better. Van Horn was good in the low post. I don't think Gallo will. It looks like Gallo will be better defensively than Van Horn.

In short, Gallo doesn't remind me about Van Horn very much. There are some similarities, but more differences.

No. You agree with such a stupid statement after the guy played 3 minutes in his first NBA game? Ryan Anderson is a decent player and Don Maclean never made much of an impact in the NBA. That's an insult right now to Gallinari. If we realize he sucks in a few years, then I will apologize to Crush. But right now it's ridiculous to say such a thing.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Ryan Anderson's played a grand total of 15 minutes in the NBA & scored 5 points guys... let's get some perspective here... no one knows how any of these kids are gonna turn out based on 1 week or 1 month, much less 1 game.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
