Actually no one yelled kill him. That was looked into and proved to be false.

You guys are pathetic if you think McCain is a racist. If people are all over Palin, making claims her daughter fathered her child with down syndrome and got all over her from the start without merit, you should have to answer questions about your past. If you don't believe sitting in a church for 20 years and listening to a pastor that blatently hates america and is racist and marries you, baptizes your children should be swept under the rug i don't know what to tell you If you have no record and have questionable associations these things need to be explored.

Ads have been running that have said McCain was near death and would have a cancer relapse and die, the media has been on the offensive towards McCain and has let Obama slide and not questioned any of his programs and not really explored his associations and attacked him the way they have attacked Palin.

Disgusting tatics, please it's politics and has been getting ugly on both sides. If you don't think McCain is an honorable man, you are a disgraceful human being.

I agree there have been bad attacks on both sides. The difference is that most of the ads against McCain have been coming from people outside Obama's organization. On the otherhand, the ads suggesting Obama is a terrorist or terrorist collaborator has been the center piece of McCain's campaign, and Obama has gotten attacked far more than McCain. I don't think McCain is a racist, I think he is an opportunist who is letting the racist in his party run wild to try and scare people into voting for him.

I just find it curious that Obama and Biden are for 95% tax cuts to the middle class, but when it comes to charitable giving they come up very short. Biden in the past 10 years has given less than 4000 to charity, obama stepped up his giving during his campaigning but gave less than 2% of his earnings away the previous 4 years. You can preach your virtues and you can pretend to care, but back it up please.

Dude, you are raving, and you are unable to back up any of your "facts" with any sources. Peace man, you want to vote against your own self interest, you are entitled to it. Enjoy

You can try to persuade the "unpersuadable" on the far right, or you can just let them be and take pleasure in the misery they experience when we elect the change we need in 3 weeks. I'm not above taking pleasure in the pain experienced by those who spread lies.

No it's not. Obama is big government and big spending. McCain is not Bush. The Republicans did a terrible job letting things get out of control, the sec is disgraceful, Bernake is a disgrace, a lot of people were let down.

. . .

How is Obama big governement and big spending? Obama has not proposed any expansion of the current government. In fact, he acknowledged that we need to cut some federal programs. Since he plans to pull a large chuck of our military out of Iraq, he is actually going to reduce alot of government spending. I think Obama is going to be a very moderate democrat in the mold of Bill Clinton. He is going to tax the rich a little more and create universal healthcare, but beyond that, I don't think he is going to promote big government or big spending. That is a fallacy that McCain is spinning.

You're wasting your time. Here's a simple formula for calculating Obama's position

Obama = the exact opposite of what MS says about him

Nice spin. Exactly what the McPalin crew wants people to think- that the Dems have attacked him in the same way he has attacked them.

I have been pissed off with Obama that he has not attacked McCain and Palin for their past connections with shady folks. I was pissed off that he did not expose McCain for the fraud he is by asking him why the McCain campaign hired Tucker Eskew, one of the guys to attacked McCain in the 2000 SC primary. McCain said at that time there would be a special place in hell for Eskew, but now he is an advisor for pit bull Palin. Obama chose not to attack him on this, or his connection with Charles Keating or G. Gordon Liddy of Watergate fame. He also had a chance to rip into Palin at the debate- a person who may just be the most pathetic choice for VP in the history of the nation, but he chose not to attack her. Hell, the woman is sleeping with a guy who wanted Alaska to secede from the U.S., for goodness sake, and she has spoken at their events. She was also aided by members of the Alaskan Independence Party in her rise to the top of the Alaskan political system. And lets not forget that she was only recently found guilty of abusing her power as governor of Alaska.

McCain's "honor" left when he decided to go to bed with the Karl Rove crew and play the character assassination game and not deal with the real issues. His honor left when he hired the guy who smeared him, his wife, and his adopted child in the 2000 campaign.

Obama has his faults, but he and the Dems have not played the same game as the McPalin campaign, and for anyone to say "both sides" are doing it is ignorant of what is going on.

MS.. It sounds to me like you either have republican parents who are brainwashing you or you just brainwash yourself with Fox News.

its funny how people get mad that the media is behind Obama... Well you'll be even more mad election night when you find out most of America is behind Obama. There is a reason for it, he's one of the best leaders we've seen in America in ages. It's no coincidence he continues to break records for attendence at his appearences and fund raising numbers are being shattered. The man is inspiring a lot of people. So be mad all you want, but this my friend is unacceptable: (posting because you seemed to deny stuff like this was happening.. and Palin did nothing to stop it or repremand it.. disgusting)

The election of McCain and Palin will earn The United States international respect equal to a 4 minute skit on SNL. That is no joke.

In nine hours we went from Palin on Saturday Night - to Colin Powell on Meet The Press Sunday morning.

You do the math.

It is time for a measured, analytical and intelligent approach to issues

McCain and Plain can always be regular guests on The Joe The Plumber Show on Fox News

Redemption for a man who disappointed many with his U.N speech in the lead-up to the unwarranted and unjustified invasion of a sovereign (A word that Bush did not know the meaning of.) nation.

Political blogs had been speculating about what Powell would do. I was almost positive that he would not endorse McCain, but I feared he might remain neutral while being critical of the racially divisive tactics the McCainites have used over the past 3 weeks.

Instead, he gives a brilliant, reasoned, honest, and heartfelt endorsement that almost had me in tears. It was clear that he had struggled with his decision, and as I expected, he gave McCain some credit as a candidate, but in the final analysis, this can only be viewed as a stunningly powerful endorsement of Obama and repudiation of McBush/Palin.

Some liberals commenting on the Lawrence O'Donnell article at Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lawrence-odonnell/colin-powell-is-ready-to_b_134777.html), which is scarily accurate for an article written 4 days before the actual endorsement, seemed to dismiss Powell's potential endorsement as not that significant. What they don't understand is that while Powell upset many liberals with his performance in the Bush administration, he still remains a respected, and in some circles, venerated, figure in the nation- with Democrat and Republican fans. It will be interesting to see if McCain and Palin even mention Powell's decision in their stump speeches.

This will dominate the newspapers and talk shows for the next 2-3 days. The only thing that could make things better is a press conference with Powell and Obama standing together. I know that Powell will not do this, but it would be a powerful and fitting exclamation point on his endorsement.

...but I disagree here, though not with the McCain part. Obama's platform has been "change you can believe in." He's essentially promised to act the way things *ought* to be, as opposed to the way things are. Yet, he acts in accordance with the way things are, like that is an excuse to blatantly lie. So he's attacked on some things, not on others... I don't care. He led me to believe he wouldn't engage in that behavior at all. It's not cut-and-dry to quantify and measure misdeeds, nor should someone get commended for doing what they *ought* to do; it's just what they should do.

Something I haven't seen mentioned in this thread yet too is that Colin Powell is one of the most widely respected black men in the white community. Undecided white moderates--hell, maybe even conservative--that are skeptical about Obama because of his skimpy resume are much, much, much more likely, IMO, to vote for Obama now

SupremeCommander - forget race.

As Powell says, "forget who is a Muslim or who is not a Muslim"

Colin Powell is respected beacuse of his loyal service to country that dates back to Nam. That service cuts across racial lines in ways that many observers may not understand because of the nuanced ways that service is perceived, both both White and Black.

Obama may have a skimpy resume but he has brilliantly surrounded himself with thousands of intelligent and inspired people who are less interested in dividing the nation with 1950's pre-integration antics of fear and loathing.

Colin Powell makes Rush Limbaugh foam at the mouth and that's good enough for me

All you need to know is that McCain allowed the RNC to hire Warren Tompkins to help him in NC. That should sum up all the character issues. Another person he blamed for almost destorying his family sanity and trying to destroy his reputation. These are people McCain said deserve a special place in hell for the type of campaign they ran. So much for not being like Bush, the man is transforming into him by the minute.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/10/mccain-campai-3.html
ABC News has learned that Warren Tompkins, one of the strategists of then-Gov. George W. Bush's South Carolina campaign in 2000 -- which Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., blamed for his family being slimed -- is now a part of the McCain-Palin campaign team, albeit in an "unofficial" role.

Tompkins, a protégé of Lee Atwater, has been dispatched to North Carolina to assess the state for the McCain-Palin campaign, Southern GOP strategists tell ABC News.

The McCain campaign says only that Tompkins has "no official role" with the campaign. The Raleigh News and Observer spotted Tompkins in the state "surveying North Carolina for the McCain campaign to determine what can be done to shore up the state."

The news of Tompkins being brought on board the McCain campaign brings to a total of three the number of GOP operatives McCain now is using despite the fact that he once held them responsible for the ugly campaign that contributed to his South Carolina primary defeat, a campaign in which McCain's wife Cindy was attacked for her past addiction to painkillers, and the McCains' adopted Bangladeshi daughter Bridget was targeted as his illegitimate black baby.

Last month, to the dismay of many McCain 2000 alumni, McCain hired another former Palmetto State opponent, Tucker Eskew.

This week, as a wave of robocalls attacking Obama has been reported across the country, and some of those calls have been tied to Jeff Larson and his firm FLS-Connect, a client of Bush's in 2000, whom McCain's team back then held responsible for anti-McCain robocalls.

The recipient of one of the new McCain robocalls, Minnesota Democratic County Commissioner Chris Shoff, was reported in the Huffington Post and the New York Times as having tied the call to FLS-Connect, which has been paid more than $8 million by the Republican National Committee during this election cycle.

The McCain campaign has refused to comment.

Eight years ago, of course, McCain was much chattier on the subject of these types of calls.

"A lot of phone calls were made by people who said we should be very ashamed about her, about the color of her skin," McCain told one interviewer. "Thousands and thousands of calls from people to voters saying 'You know the McCains have a black baby.' I believe that there is a special place in hell for people like those."

"You've seen it -- turn on the radio, turn on the television, and unfortunately now pick up the telephone and you'll hear a negative attack against John McCain," McCain said during a February 2000 GOP debate in South Carolina.

"At a town hall meeting a mother stood up and she said, 'Senator McCain, my son was 13 last year. We had a lot of trouble of explaining things to him that went on in Washington.' She said, 'Now he's 14. He's told me not long ago, "John McCain is my hero. He's the man I want to be like." Well, last night he came into her room,' she said, 'and he had tears in his eyes because he had answered the phone and the phone call, even though he told the caller that he was 14, said, "Do you know that John McCain is a liar, and a thief and cheat?"' Well, that night I called my people together. I said, 'Take down our response ad. We're running nothing but a positive campaign from now on.' I committed to that, I promise that."

In 2001, McCain said he was "very unhappy" about his family being attacked, specifically identifying "the phone calls that said, 'Do you know that Cindy McCain's a drug addict?'...Phone calls saying, 'Do you know the McCains have a black baby?'" Phone calls, he told Rolling Stone magazine that went out to the voting public of South Carolina "by the hundreds of thousands, yeah. And, you know, that's really the ugly underside of politics."

In Maine, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine -- an original member of McCain's 2008 campaign kitchen cabinet who's up for re-election -- recently said the calls "don’t serve John McCain well. This kind of campaign call does not reflect the kind of leader that he is.”

Truth

The kind of campaign McCain has run reflects EXACTLY the kind of leader that he is. The mean-spirited call to "fight" is only absorbed by his crowds and magnified by their lusty negative responses. "Terrorist!"

On the other hand, have you noticed which camapign has the more attractive (beaming with pride and optimism) people in the crowd?

Here is a toss up question for all Jessica Alba conoisseurs:

Which camapign has the most hotties in the crowd behind the candidate?

It's no contest baby.

Obama has a unique advantage that his party isn't in the white house and he can blame everything on bush and link them together. And because McCain was tortured he looks older and more frail people are turned off by his body language. It's a different dynamic, Obama is smooth and polished, and by all accounts impressive.

that's all very true, but u have to admit 1 of the main roles for the President is to provide an impressive figure to represent your country & not crack under the high pressure of the office... if Obama shows you he can handle that aspect of the position then it's a plus in his favor any way you look at it.
