2 most overrated moments of the 90's? Allan Hosuton's lucky bounce in 99 and "the dunk" by Starks over Jordan -

Bingo!

But Starks was over jordan, pippy and grant. The three best defenders on that team.

However-
On the Ewing front- there were things I didn't like ....... but really the only thing I wish he hadn't done was get up off that bench in Miami. Why Patrick why? I know it was a heated moment but that's just when he needed to chill, and come back and win on the court. Dang. And, I'm sure Patrick feels the exact same way, and it was a crazy moment, and our bench coaches should have kept our guys on the bench too.

GO KNICKS!

That's right! I forgot about that. Those doity bums!
I'll never trust this' team again.

I hate to say it, but Jackson was 'I think' overrated.

I know a few of you are heads over heals for the guy, but simply put........................'he sucked'! Sorry.

Yeah, he overrated himself to #2 all time in assists, a 17 year career, tons of triple doubles, has coined shot names, got the NBA to change the rules because nobody could stop him, is # 12 all time in games played...and killed the Knicks Ward and Childs game after game. I wish we could get a PG here who sucked that bad again!

oohah

But Why would you want one, if he sucked that bad?? I'm dazed and confused.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I thought Mark was annoying too, and would have been a bad choice for us as coach, and i hated him in Indiana, and his posting up was tiresome. But with the Knicks, with Starks at the 2, stability, playing for one team within a system, maturing w the same players, etc- and dishing to Ewing, I think he would have been better than he was as a semi journeyman.

Okay, I can agree with that. Maybe he would have been the difference as a Knick during those war years.
I'll never trust this' team again.

My sarcasm escapes you. Okay, I'll try again. I hope we can land a PG, like Mark jackson, who sucks so bad that he is the runaway rookie of the year and sets a record for assists by a rookie, then is on the all-star team in his second season.

Don't you wish we had a PG who sucks as bad as Mark Jackson did according to you?

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Did you prefer the preachy Charlie Ward or the nutty Marbury to the annoying Jackson?

The Knicks got Rivers and Smith in the Jackson trade. At the time Smith looked like he could be the dominant small forward the Knicks had been trying to get and Rivers was a tremendous leader. Jackson went on to prove that Grunfeld had made a mistake but alot of that was Smith's fault.

I liked Rivers a lot but he was not a true PG. Derek Harper was a good player but a hybrid PG as well, not a real floor general. Smith was a good player but he was damaged goods.

But it didn't matter. Those teams were loaded with scoring talent all the way up through Sprewell years, but if you don't have a PG to run the offense, it's like having a ton of guns but nobody to fire them. Does that sound familiar? To clarify, that is similar to the situation we have with the Knicks now.

Rivers was on the injured list for the 94 playoffs too, which hurt us.
I would have taken annoying Mark.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Harper is my favorite all-time NBA player (way some people feel about Frazier), therefore I have to defend him. Jackson had a solid career, but Harper held down the fort for the Knicks from 94-96, espeically in the playoffs. He had quite a few games hitting 7 3pt field goals, assists, great defense, steals, and clutch plays on a consistent basis. Had the Knicks won in 94 he probably would have been Finals MVP. He totally abused Marc Jackson in our playoff matchups against the Pacers. IMO he is the best pg we've had in the last 2 decades, possibly the best since Frazier. He was not a hybrid pg. He was the "quintessential" pg as Fraizer termed.

Everyone feared the Knicks back then. You ****ed around, you would get your ass thrown to the floor. But the league has changed, not only the Knicks. It's a more p*ssy league now.

PS: The best part: Nobody got f'in ejected. Today, the game would probably be canceled.
