"After awhile, some will get it and some won't, but the only tool you'll have is minutes," D'Antoni said.

"It's a different mentality," Stephon Marbury said. "(D'Antoni) demands a lot and demands it every time. When we're on the court playing, you know what you can do and what you can't do. It's very important to do things differently than how we used to do things. Because, obviously, it didn't work the last two or three years."

It's not just about D'Antoni. It's the fact that D'Antoni has the unwavering support of the fron office. It doesn't matter if D'Antoni puts the players on notice and the front office then turns around and supports the players. We've had that for too long here in NY. Now When Mike says something, if the players complain, he can bench them and marginalize them, he won't have to watch his back..........At least for the time being. We all know that JD can destroy that with the touch of his no nothing finger. Hopefully Mike will be left alone to run his team. That is the way you turn a franchise around. This infighting between coaches and GM's has destroyed us. It has left the team rudderless and allowed the likes of Marbury to torpedo seasons. Clearly Marbs can still be a distraction. Clearly a bad episode from him can hurt us. But I think the reaction he will receive this time will not be in his favor. And when the players see this reaction they may respond positively.

We don't like it, but Mike is testing Marbs. He clearly doesn't like the guy but is giving him a shot to get things done. It's up to Marbs at this point.

Well, Marbury is full of crap because a whopping three days earlier he made it known no way would he come off the bench and no way would he accept 1 penny less than he is owed in a buyout.

So, whatever.

As to Mike D telling it how it is....isn't this how Larry Brown got himself into trouble? Yeah, it was.

Sure, it's different this go around, but it's still a coach getting into it with players through the media. First ripping on Curry's weight now ripping on Steph's comments...through the media.

What's changed? Nothing yet. Same bullcrap.

It's just that this go around it will play out in favor of the coach/gm and not the player.

Still, it just underscores the fact that no matter the coach, this roster is rotten in so many ways and until that changes expect a LOT of the same.

I think you will find that all the good coaches challenge their players in the press. All of them. You will also find that the great players respond. Of course we would prefer for everyone to shut up, but I'm telling you, all coaches and all players have an ego, and this stuff happens. So this time, if the players don't respond, we know we don't have the right players. Eddie has been fat for 9 years, enough worryign about his feelings. I have no problem with Mike pointing that out. Marbs has talked and talked and talked and it's about time someone called him out on it. The difference in this case is that both LB and Mike are right. But this time the coach has the juice card
I just hope that people will like me

I think the system will make a difference. The only players need to go are Curry,Marbs and Randolph. The rest can fit in.
