i'd rather have an old & decrepid H20 representing the Knicks than more than half the guys we have on this team... i personally could care less what his motives were by his comments, suggested or otherwise... he's 1 of the only guys w/any credibility at all at practice these days.

Unfortunately, Rose and James are going nowhere. He's not accepting any retirement proposal (James).

I think the higher ceiling is keeping pej, but then again, simply having Houston helps a lot.

If we were gonna keep an athletic defensive-minded reserve small forward, we could've kept Balkman and not traded for Jr.

Instead we offered the Big Fella's son a place in camp and an opportunity to showcase in preseason before he's waived and can sign on with some other team.

This was a PR move to soothe PE Sr.s sore feelings.

Ewing and Grunfeld are out. and if Houston's deemed healthy, he is more valuable than Roberson.

i agree kam... if we don't end up keeping PEJ i don't understand why we gave away Balkman for nothing.

Yup.......As for Houston, I agree with you on that too. Even if the guy can't play I think having him in the lockerroom is a plus. I think that D'Antoni is leaning this way and hoping that he can still play.

yeah but the political thing would be to keep him on the team... just having him fight for a roster spot & then cutting him later achieves nothing if u ask me... the idea should be to have this kid play games at the Garden, or at least suit up for the team & sit on the bench if nothing else... otherwise why bother? how does that foster any good will w/the fans or even w/his dad? we had a guy in Balkman who could actually play some minutes & give u some hustle & get the crowd into games w/some of his frantic style play... he wasn't a major factor in games but at least he effected some games... we gave that away to let PEJ practice w/this team in camp & then get cut? totally meaningless.

it was an olive branch to Sr, after not interviewing him for HC.

Jr, wasn't gonna get into training camp elsewhere. We did him a favor.

NBA scouts will be watching him for a month, and if there are injuries, he might stick.

Here or elsewhere.
