I'm a fan of the Knicks but also a patriot.

As of this morning I suspended my fan support for the Knicks. With so much on the line, for America and the world, the debate that matters most right now is taking place in the United States Capitol - and I intend to join it. I cannot carry on rooting for and posting about the Knicks as though this dangerous situation had not occurred or as though a solution were at hand, which it clearly is not. As fans living in the United States, our duty is to serve this country, and we can serve it best now by putting basketball aside and dealing in a focused, straightforward way with the problem that's at hand.

I suggest that the Knicks halt any preseason activities until McCain and Palin can come up with a plan to rehabilitate the economy.

My suggestion is a quick stop at Scores.

I agree with Bip! My view is that we have a more than respectable front office now. After all the crap we now have solid leadership! You can't argue with that. Some are biased against Waltoni and I think that colors their view of what they're doing. Case in point is Gallo. I see no reason to be impatient with this group when everyone has screamed for a rebuild for years. It's a process!

That's fair Bip. It's just moves or lack of certain moves is what really get me back to my point that Dolan rushed his hire back in April. But we'll see.

Nixluva, man you're too funny. If they fired Walsh today and replace him with Charles Manson. You're be there to say how we have to give him a chance and point how he has great leadership skills and can motivate this team. That's cool though, faithful Knick fan.

Regarding Dolan rushing his hire. I am convinced that Walsh was hired because he would retain Thomas in some capacity with the team where others would not. I also think Dolan may have been told by Stern that he needed to turn things around and make things respectable. Walsh is a compromise because it allowed Dolan to retain Isiah while hiring a guy who is respected throughout the league. Isiah wanted the Knicks to be Phoenix east and may have been involved in the decision behind the hire. Until Isiah is no longer an employee of the Knick organization I will look at every move made and wonder what or if he had a role in it.

So for instance, if the Knicks land LeBron James, Isiah has a role in it?

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

If Walsh continues to give Thomas credit and duties I would have to say yes. Remember it was Walsh who basically said Isiah, like Gallinari. Read directly from Thomas' report on Gallinari to the press. He claims he speaks with Isiah because he has a great basketball mind. But your point is a good one. If Isiah says get Lebron, what you're not going to listen because it comes from Isiah.

In the spirit of the election season, I go with this.
