The best lineup for this offense is Nate, Jamal, Quentin, Jared, and David. If Zach is such a great offensive player why cant we get rid of him and pawn him off on someone else? He is a cancer, selfish, no ball movement, and Portland became a better team without him. The same stuff will happen that happens every year. We will start Curry and Randolph and go about 5-20 and figure out we need a change and by then most everyone has quit or got hurt
Jared is part of the best lineup for our offense, huh? well, we're doomed then.
Zach is a fine offensive player and he'll look good with DLee next to him, because DLee will do things that compliment Zach's game, unlike Curry. He's not immovable, but his contract makes it difficult. We're not the only team looking to be under the cap in 2010, you know. Even so, several teams have inquired about Zach, but Walsh has held off to see if he can get his value higher by playing him in this system. I don't buy that Zach will be a cancer under a new coach and with Marbury gone. I don't think he's going anywhere until February or next summer, so we might as well start the best lineup this team can start and go from there.
People talk about ball movement, ball movement, ball movement in this offense. It's important, but how often do you see Amare or Marion make a dazzling pass in the Suns offense? It's more about quick decisions with the ball. If Zach can do that, if D'Antoni tells him to shoot or pass with two seconds of getting the ball, he'll be fine.
This idea that Jared Jefferies is going to be anything other than a servicable backup in this system needs to stop. Fine, he's a gym rat and he's in shape right now. Too bad he has no offensive skills and can really only defend smaller players - asking him to play center is like asking Eddy to eat a salad for dinner every day. He can do it for a day or two, but after about a week, he's gonna start to crack.
