I would do the trade regardless just to dump Zach's contract and to get my hands on Darko who's very young & still has promise but to not get my hands on one of their three young PGs would really feel like a wasted opportunity. We could use a PG for the future - a real potential quarterback like Crittenton or Lowry - and they have them in surplus. Maybe I'd offer both our own 2nd rounder plus the other 2nd we just picked up from Denver as a sweetener.

We are not trading for Walker because of the skills he used to have. We are trading for his contract. Nothing more. I imagine he would take a seat in between Malik and Jerome and will only get a chance to show off his eroding point forward skills when we are in involved in a blowout.

Walker is more valuable to the Knicks than Malik. Walker coming off the bench, in the locker room and in practice.....mentor, like I said teachin moves and preping situations cuz Wilson and Gallo wanna be just like Antoine Walker.....in fact we can only wish that both players can be Antoine Walker.....that leadership and focus is needed in NY. Not Malik's bum ass.

Yeah wth.......why is that hard to grasp? Walker could improve the team from the bench. He's better than Malik Rose, period......the Knicks will use him for his contract but he makes the team better. He's a vet and showed no indication that he is a headcase or an *******......so why **** on him for no reason?

You got them started again Andrew. But any moves that are made, I just wanna know if it's going to interfere with our cap plans?

I liked the trade when it was suggested a short time ago, and assuming that Milicic, who did with the Serbian team what Gallinari did with the Italians- sat out their qualifying tournament, is not really injured, I would still make this trade.

The biggest reason why people are always down on Darko is not his fault- it has to do with the fact teams rated him so highly, and Detroit was dumb enough to take him over Anthony and Wade.

Knicks fans should suspend their reason, close their eyes, and make believe that Darko was drafted as the 2nd pick of the 2nd round, not # 2 in the entire draft. You might be more accepting of him and the back-up quality numbers he has only been able to put up so far.

We really need a shot blocker, and Milicic can be a 20+MPG rotational player who can block shots for us and run the floor. I don't expect offense from him, but hope that D'Antoni can get something more than other teams got from him. 8-10 PPG, 6-8 RPG, and 2 BPG would be within his reach as a player based on what he has done in the last few years, and these would be pretty good reserve player #'s. He is also young still, and if he is not worth resigning in 2 years, you can let him run back to Serbia.

Don't like Jaric's contract length, but even though he is not a star or even a starter, the guy is not a stiff, and he has put up decent assist and steals numbers for a reserve swingman. (And with him comes his woman)

I would do it, and if you could get anything else from them, that would just be icing on the cake.

I don't see anything in all of this that is worth while. Forget it. Let's just stick to a simple plan and wait for something better to come up.
I'll never trust this' team again.

We should hold out for Critterton, or however you spell his damn name, at least. No give-a-ways. Believe it or not there is a market for a 20-10 power forward in his prime. Head case? Yes. But GM's love reclamation projects and this is definitely a chance to buy low.

We need not buckle to the anti-Zach hype. Donnie is doing his due diligence and showing patience.

Can we afford another head case?
I'll never trust this' team again.

I don't see anything in all of this that is worth while. Forget it. Let's just stick to a simple plan and wait for something better to come up.

What if something better does not come up.

These are the facts with this team:

1) You can’t have Curry and Randolph playing together for significant minutes in D’Antoni’s offensive scheme.
2) You can’t have a successful help defense with Curry and Randolph as your big men.
3) Lee, Gallinari, and Chandler will have minutes taken from them by Randolph being on the team.
4) Randolph is not in the long term plans of this Knicks management, and his contract is a heavy weight on the back of the franchise.
5) Randolph has more trade value than Curry at this moment in time.
6) Walsh has said that one of his priorities is to get a shot blocker on this team
7) Based on what we know, the only trade that has seemed to offer us any kind of functional players for Randolph is what Memphis is offering.
8) Memphis has added Marc Gasol and the Iranian center to their team, but they do not have a blue chip big man who can score and rebound like Randolph.
9) Milicic does not seem to be a long-term solution for this team, but one thing he has shown the ability to do is block shots.
10) When Amare was injured, Phoenix spoke to Detroit about Milicic, whose value was probably at its lowest, and wanted to trade for him.
11) D’Antoni just happened to be the coach of Phoenix when they attempted to trade for Milicic- which indicates he might like him.
12) I doubt if Randolph's value can be any higher than it is now and if he is not able to prosper in D'Antoni's system his value will simply go down.

I would rather have fewer wins without Randolph being on the team if it means that Gallo, Lee, and Chandler get more playing time and allow us to see if they can play the kind of ball D’Antoni wants the Knicks to play.

If there really are talks going on between the teams, and Memphis is serious about Randolph and offering Milicic, I would make the trade (assuming that Milicic is fit to play) unless there is some trade out there that we don’t know about. I want Lee, Gallinari, and Chandler- who might be playing on this team in 4 years- playing good minutes from day one of this season. If I can, I would take Walker over Jaric because of his contract, but if they push Jaric, I would attempt to pick up a #2 or one of their other guards. If it makes sense for based on cap/contract considerations, I would also try to give them Rose, even if we have to give them some cash to sweeten the deal.
No man is happy without a delusion of some kind. Delusions are as necessary to our happiness as realities- C.N. Bovee
