green + roberson + nate + crawford = the ny knicks, where combo guard means guaranteed contract...

why didn't they just draft bayless?

This is an interesting trade. The Knicks have been linked to Green before so maybe he is a keeper. It could also be the predecessor to a much bigger move. Lets hope the Knicks front office stops getting punked by NJ.

or green + jones get waived b/c they are non-guaranteed contracts...

Even if theres not, I still like the deal since Balkman was going to do nothing for us and we got a 2nd rounder out of it.

No he was actually not focused at all was out all the time and I'm sure a major reason why he was moved. Would have been nice to include him in another deal, but I guess it's important to get guys out of town that are interested in living it up and not improving

Actually Balkman was in Isiah's doghouse last year so it's probably not.

I was hoping to give Balkman a shot this year. If we weren't planning on holding onto him, I thought we could have at least pumped up his value in the up-tempo game. Either way, this trade isn't going to make or break anything.

If Denver is really in a cost cutting mode, in a couple years that 2nd rounder could be a pretty nice pick to have. I do like Taurean Green though. I am hoping that we are able to give him a shot. Mardy had a nice summer league, but I wouldn't be surprised if Green beats him out for a spot once we get through pre-season.

Balk was a cult figure. The dredlocks flopping in the air while he raced up and down the court diving and keeping balls alive (not to mention missing easy layups.) I think I'll missed the image more than the player. Beneath his image, he wasn't a very skilled player, but he'll still be missed.

Damn, atlease Marcus Williams brought the Nets back another first rounder and ROndo won a title. Balkman was traded for nothing!!!!!!! smh

One other note:

The draft pick will be the more favorable selection between the Nuggets and Clippers, resulting from a previous trade.

So we ended up getting that 2nd rounder without trading Zach Randolph!
