Patience, at this point, is a quality needed in anyone who wants to fix the Knicks.

Layden and Isiah had a thing in common: they weren't patient. They traded for the big name in order to create the idea that we were improving, but we always regressed.

Now, if this report is true, you are blaming Walsh for what is probably gonna make this plan work?

I can imagine the kind of posts you would've made:

"Walsh gave them Zach for nothing"
"Walsh should've gotten a pick. Its inexcusable he didn't."
"We just made another winner while we will hardly win 10 games."

And many more. The fact is no matter how much we fans hate Zach, he still is a double-double machine that on a good team or one that has a very good player like Baron, he will probably help them get to the playoffs and more. There are many more selfish players with personal problems that get paid a lot in this league and can't even defend themselves by claiming to score double-doubles like a machine.

We need the money, true, but we don't need it for this year. We actually have time to our advantage, and in business, you have to use them instead of giving up to anything others want from us.

Time is our very friend, and patience is a great quality in a leader. Great to have you here, Sr. Walsh.

Negotiating is an art and Donnie isn't an idiot. He's taking his time and doing things the right way. No problems here.

just the opposite knicksfan, if walsh traded zach for an expiring, i think the he would get applauded by 99.99% of the knicks fan base. the 0.01% that would be upset is bitty b/c then she would have to move to the left coast to stalk him there.

2010 2010 2010!!! Fuck it!!! Lebron James on the Knicks is a pipe dream, and I for one do not think it will happen. I rather do what Portland is doing

I trust Donnie so far. I have no reason to. He's doing what he said he was gonna do. We can't expect miricles......every team is searching for the same things......I believe we'll get our break sooner than later.

I mean everyone for one second just think about this. Do you really think Donnie Walsh believes that Zach Randolph is a useful piece? I mean honestly, nearly every GM in the league wants nothing to do with him and you think Donnie is dumb? Donnie knows Zach has to be moved and he will move him when the right trade comes along. If this report is true then Donnie must be holding out for something, but to think the guy doesn't know what he's doing is just dumb.

My guess is that this report is partially true and partially false and if that's so, then that's good because where there's smoke there's fire.

Is that a legitimate rumor? That would be so sweet...

Any team that is almost established and only lacks a solid PF would certainly want Zach. HE has lots of flaws, yeah, but you make him sound like the freaking antichrist. GMs around the league close to have a playoff team and lacking a PF will certainly call. And other than an expiring contract, Zack is worth a draft pick as well.

I keep telling you guys. Walsh isn't making any big moves right now. He's taking baby steps. The short term, low cost for Duhon is another indicator of this. It would be isiah-diot all over again if he does make any foolish moves right now.
I'll never trust this' team again.

How is getting rid of Randolph for nothing a foolish move? You realize what we traded for him? Frye and Francis? C'mon. The guy is worthless!
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Just getting in. LOL, I guess Donnie and Mike D' believe they got a talented team less Lee and others. So now, we are looking to top value for Zack while unload his contract? Possibly the only team willing to take Randolph off our hands to assist Donnie with is 2010 or bust agenda and he is the one who passes. Can't make this stuff up. And people are now trying to spin this and say they still trust Walsh. God help this franchise. Each hire continues to get worse and worse.

I agree with whoever said we should hold out for Jordan. A trade of Zach for Jordan and maybe a future 2nd round pick would be a good deal in my opinion. Walsh better not screw this up because there is no way Curry and Zach can co-exist with their defensive deficiences. Trade Zach and boost Curry's trade value.

Trust the Process

Damn, this is a gamble. Bold, but could prove costly if Zach continues to disintegrate. I like the idea of not just accepting whatever junk is thrown at us, but at the same time moving Zach could go a long way in asserting some financial responsibility and focus.

Man, I hope they know what their doing if this story is true; but I agree with the premise, Zach can be a commodity, he's a baller but his trade value is rock bottom. Why sell low? Summer of 2010 is still 2 years away.

since the clippers have cap space, then moving zach to them would mean the knicks get a trade exemption in return. a pretty darn big trade exemption which translates into an expiring deal they could use up to 1 calendar year from now.

and if they chose not to use it, they just dumped $17+ mil from the 2010 cap. plus probably increases curry's value at the same time.

i know the knicks are idiots, but they're not this stupid hence why this has 27 degrees below celcius level of truth.

Not if you think you can rehabilitate Zach's image in 08/09 by him having a monster year. Not only do the Knicks want cap space, but they want something tangible in return in case of the likely scenario that Lebron doesnt come here.

walsh has said time and time again that he wants to be a player in the 2010 free agency market. what you said can be true but i know for a fact that their #1 priority is to move zach. that's why this is BS.

lebron will come to ny if he wants to, regardless of who's here and who's not.

you keep saying you know "for a FACT, that the Knicks want to trade Z.Randolph"

Do you work for the Knicks or have some sort of inside scoop?

Says were asking for Gordon? Well the initial posts here thought this was made up BS--but that does not sound true. Asking for Eric Gordon is something that wouldnt go through the door--he needs to learn how to play team basketball but otherwise he has nice talent--more than enough to laugh as a conisderation in a trade for Randolph. I watched Jordan last night as well and I wouldnt mind asking for him---he's got bust potential but he could be a better version of Tony Battie if things work out. He played within himself last night and looked good--if we could get Jordan and have someone mentor him--it's possible we could have a player. If I was the Clippers I wouldnt give him up--Id rather offer out a restricted pick if I really needed to get a deal done. I have to wonder though--how many teams will actually vie for Randolph? Getting the cap space isnt the worst thing by a longshot. Need to make a deal here because a deal can be made--I think we can get something out of the Clippers but I dont like to hear the Knicks being way to greedy[gordon] that is the way things blow up and people walk away.

Problem is that they just signed Baron Davis... cap space is a problem if your star player is going to feel betrayed that you commited to winning and are sitting on a ton of cap space... Davis needs supporting players. Is it possible that Davis wants to play with ZBo? He checked with the Knicks twice about their interest and now the Clips are asking for Zbo (and probably the only team doing that).

You know I gonna spin wit it
