do the knicks keep zach now with Bosh, KG and Brand at PF in their division?

the thought of DLee or Gallinari trying to stop those guys for 12-15 games a year is bringing tears to my eyes, in the bad way.

Bucher said Baron will not renege on the deal, he wants to play in LA.

If we took back Tim thomas and Cutino Mobley salaries 15.1mm combined they would actually be getting Randolph for 500k LESS on the cp this year which would keep them in play for a major FA

--

watch

z-bo 14.6
Balkman 1.3--15.9

Tim Thomas 6.1
Mobley 9.1
Jordan 500k---15.7

Knicks throw in 3mm
Clipeers get Zach Randolph for nothing financially for two years and 2mm to offset his last year

Their cap number would still be 28.5 pending Baron Davis

We could instantly release those players and they could return to LA after the 30 day wait.

if they want to remain at all competitive next year in this division, i bet they're thinking about keeping zbo though. we will get slaughtered down low with lee and gallinari at the 4.

brand's agent is a whole lot smarter than baron's. got him paid plus as as kg and ray showed, easiest route to a title is due east...

seems baron baylor dumbleavy and trueblue didn't discussed things thoroughly with brand
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

The Knicks have to try to get something out of this if they want to sniff FA in 2010--whther it ends up being Randolph for Mobley and Tim thomas or Lee and crawford for picks and Jordan---have to start the process now or it wont happen

we have 3 PF who need significant PT randolph lee and gallinari + balkman can play some 4 the clippers dont even have a back up 4. Im sure they will try to sign Josh Smith Ok4--this is a nightmare scenario that will move to atlanta and charlotte if nothing else to jack up those players contracts but i cant see either team letting go

we can actually give them randolph for nothing by trading for thomas and mobley and then waving them--they can go back to LA for the minimum after 30 days and we can take care of that pay with a 2-3mm$ payment upfront on the deal thats like getting radnolpfor free for 2 years

if not purge crawford with lee for picks and Jordan

Sterling makes a profit on the Clips. They got a great building and decent following, enough for a profit.

Low payroll really makes it happen.

I don't know the clips contract to the Staples center but the value of the team in LA still must be high and huge profit to Sterling! ITs his team, he can do what he wants.

Move it to seattle would make sense only if it improves his value and profits.

Seattle is certainly a better market than Memphis and NO was. Kansas City and Louisvile both have new buildings that want teams. Virgina Beach area boasts the largest market without a pro franchise. No building, but ripe for a team.

El Cheapo owner Sterling ain't gonna take back Zach's extra $17 mil in 2010 & all his baggage... we're talking about Elton Brand here, 1 of the premier PF's in the game... there's a reason why he wanted to hold onto him... Brand leaving is not going to motivate him to go after Zach now unless we were to throw in a sweetener on the deal... it ain't gonna happen... Josh Smith is still out there & the Clips have the cap space to offer him a max type contract if they so choose... let's see, who would u guys rather have? Zach or Josh Smith.

i love it, now it's an absolute must that we get rid of Zach's contract or else it's not gonna happen later, whereas a few weeks ago it made sense to wait a year to weigh our options... i guess a lot of things have changed since the draft.

Everyone's assuming Brand is gonna be the same player. Didn't he tear his achillies? That's a really serious injury. Philly's taking a huge risk (with a potentially very high reward).

he did play about 7-8 games at the end of last season. Still a risk, I would agree.

You're right. I didn't realize that. That probably really increased his market value. Still is a risk. 7 or 8 games is different than 100+ games for pre, reg, and post season.

Why is Mike Dunleavy crying so much about this? I think Dunleavy is really making himself look like a huge baby and this isn't even a winning coach in this league.

I think since Dunleavy is crying so much that there must be something fishy, but still...

Well, Brand was another player I respected that this sort of thing tarnishes, IMHO. He has now taken the Carlos Boozer path and violated his word. Pretty crappy thing to do, to blatantly lie just to get out of your contract. I hope they make a Elton Brand version of www.carlosloozer.com after this.

As for Dunleavy, I think his response, while maybe a little too public, is probably reasonable. His trust was violated and he, his players, and his management got played. Most likely, he was the one that convinced management to go along with this strategy. That's not the easiest thing to accept.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
