Marbury is basically a non-entity in this comparison. If you read between the lines here, the Knicks don't really want Marbury back under any circumstances, and can you blame them? His chemistry issues basically killed last season from the jump. They don't need his presence in the locker room. I don't think this a Marbury vs. Duhon issue - this is a Duhon vs. what was on the roster internally and what else was available on the FA market. Duhon made the most sense from a cost and chemistry perspective for what they are trying to accomplish over the next two seasons- thus the reason he was the first guy who came into a visit, and a player they were willing to raise their monetary offer on.

"Playoffs or bust," is you putting words into the coaches mouth. D'Antoni will certainly aim to win games next year, and is going to say so in the press (what new coach gets hired saying they want to lose?) But clearly the moves they've made in the draft and in FA signal a long term goal for this team. If not they would've been more agressive to make a blockbuster trade at the draft, would have shopped their expiring contracts a bit more, and would've made a play at a longer term option in FA rather vs what is clearly a transitional option with some youth/upside potentially.

when isles positively stand behind something without all of the negativity and then gets it correct, then he would have a leg to stand on, and worthy of defending... right now, anyone who defends his negative stance is just as lost as he is...

I stood positively behind Larry Brown and how he should have full control of how he wants to coach his team.

I stood positively behind Isiah getting his ass out of town, from the second he was hired.

I don't mind standing alone because in the end I'm not going to be.

Isles you add nothing to this site. You are just a whiny little bitch. All you do is bitch and moan about every move the Knicks make, it honestly has to suck being you. You are a miserable whiny little bitch

I found this extremely humorous and didn't take offense to it one bit. The Ambiguously Gay Duo pic was funny as well. All in good fun.

But Martin, we both know that if it weren't directed at me, it would be cause for a stickied post warning the offender to knock it off. Nice double standard but like I said, it's your world Boss.

I will address this post later and I'll have a lot of content to add. But just for starters the part I bolded you have no idea what they tried to do and didn't do. What failed or what could have succeeded. This is you giving your opinion as I did.

Isles makes very solid points many of which I have to agree with. He's had this organization sized up for a while now. Does DW deserve all this skepticism after his first few moves? Well it's debatable and looking at his predecessor does have some after affect on how moves are judged by this organization because Dolan and I SAY UGH are very present still. There really was no reason to make mention of I SAY UGH'S role(scouting foreign talent) right before the draft and then afterwards speak on how he played in a role in the selection process. You know how many franchises have individuals who play pivotal roles in decisions made in an organization who get no credit at all publicly? The reasons to keep I SYA UGH'S name in the press can only mean one thing in that Donnie is trying to help rebuild his reputation while at the same teaching him the ropes of how to manage a team properly. Add in Brandon Suhr's commentary on how great I SAY UGH is in finding talent and here you have an organization performing damage control for an employee who really doesn't deserve it. It's like they're almost going out of their way to remind us all he's still present no matter how minor/major his role is.

Look we've heard and said similar things word for word from moves in the past. Obviously we want change, we want to see signs of it and when something happens that appears to be contrast of what has happened in the past we swallow it up. These moves not being made by I SAY UGH doesn't automatically constitute them as good nor does it mean they are exempt from criticism. Donnie overpaid for Duhon plain and simple. Danilo pick was no greater a risk pick with upside than several other players picked well after him.

There was no greater resume in terms of success when LB got here and how did that turn out? Donnie has a chance to prove his worth I just don't see anything he's done thus far as remotely impressive. D'Antonio Sabato Jr. wants to make the playoffs next yr and Donnie has done nothing to help accomplish this this far. Going after Duhon would be like LB going after Eric Snow/Steve Francis to supplant Marbury who many here thought would have been horrific acquisitions but since Donnie only signed Duhon for 2yrs it's an All Good signing because it fits the cap space goal agenda. Francis and Snow's deals would have expired 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 respectively think about this for a second.

They then come out and try and publicly kill Lee's importance to the team, I guess because they're blaming him instead of their low budget offer for the 5th pick which in all actuality eliminated any chance of a deal getting done. Only for D'Antonio Banderas to follow it up a week later in damage control fashion because this is what we do best and speak highly of Lee as if he's going to be around for the duration. So if Lee will be around and Danilo doesn't become this All-World Pro really what has been done? Nothing! Until Donnie unloads major deadweight or builds up the value of the deadweight, nothing has been done besides rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.

Yada, Yada Yada
Great! one bore sticking up for another bore (edited version). Reminds me of

Watching fans exult mediocre transactions yr after yr only to be proven wrong time after time is like watching reruns of a bad sit-com.

Where do you see fans exulting Duhon? Because people post articles on the signing? People are going to paste any article that has to do with the knicks. Its a Knicks fan site.

Yes, but we do no what actually has happened which in general is the best indicator. And it jives with everything Donny Walsh has said in the press.

how many times does it need to be said? We probably took the BPA, every site and publication that covers the NBA draft said the Knicks took a good player and gave us a B or A draft grade, and this guy actually accomplished things in Europe as opposed to guys like Darko and Lampe who were nothing more than untested Euro prospects.
Galli is a tested player over there.. at least as tested as an NCAA freshman. Cha-roo till your ba-loo but its like that. Add that this guy wants to be here and comes from a culture where the only stat that matters is WINS. He's not padding his points and rebs for a better draft position against NCAA programs that can barely field a basketball team.

i thought NYK's comments were outta line personally, & i normally don't agree w/isles on every topic... if personal attacks are gonna be frowned upon for certain posters than it should apply to everyone posting on these forums, no?
