are they going to offer him more than 2 years?

Another safe move. This is one I can reason on because Duhon is high character, plays within himself, defends, and comes from a good college background. Good question DJ I don't see anything less than 3yrs working, not to mention he would demand the full MLE.

You know that he has a reputation for partying hard and drinking?

He hasn't been in any big time trouble for anything real bad. He got into it a bit with Skiles/Paxon who got into it with everybody last yr. He was pissed as most players are when you're on a bad team during a contract yr. Most NBA players party your boy taking the cake in that primarily.

Make no mistake about it bitty I could care less if we acquire him I said I could tolerate it. You of all people shouldn't call out anyone for character issues. If we can tolerate Zachass we can make Du with Duhon.

I don't care that he parties but drop the "oh he's a high character" because its utter nonesense.

Duhon is a back up NBA PG who plays hot and cold.

I'd like to see us bring in Jamont Gordon to the SL team. He looks like a bigger Charlie Ward with more upside and athletic ability. Not a great shot but at his size he could be an excellent defender/rebounder/distributor who can get to the basket at times from the PG slot. Certainly at 6-4 220 there is a uniqueness there in terms of physical make up+ he lead his team to a very good record in a tough league. He turns the ball over a little to much but I think he can tighten that up.

If we can't trade for PG then I this is wish list in the FA market for PGs

1. Duhon
2. Arroyo
3. Udrih
4. Pargo

Offer them 2 year deals and entice them of having a shot at starting as PG for a PG driven system. This would raise their stock in 2 years.

As for PGs via trades, I want the following in this order.

1. Sergio Rodriguez
2. Felton
3. Lowry

No offense but I get so tired of hearing play for us and their stock will rise. How many guys have got traded or left Phoenix because of inflated stats? Most of the time Phoenix get them they inflate the stats and Phoenix signs them to bad contracts like Barbosa and Diaw and get stuck with them?

I like Duhon, but he's a player you add when you already have other pieces in place. I am a fan of Felton, so I definitely wouldn't mind seeing that Lee for Felton/future pick go through, but that's been shot down.

If we're looking for a stop gap PG, why not hand the ball over to lil Nate and see how he can control this offense? I really believe Nate will thrive in the up-tempo game. If things don't work out, you can see who is available closer to the trade deadline, or even wait until next off season. There's really no FA points that excite me enough to hand them a multi-year contract.

Really? Barbosa and Diaw are the exceptions.

There are tons of dudes sitting on other rosters with big contracts because of their years in Phoenix.

Q-Rich is one of them. Stephon is one of them.

Even when Phoenix signs the deal, they can trade the guys because their value remains inflated. The Knicks have been the anti-Phoenix for the last few years.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

King 1 Duhon is just a decent 12 minute back up. If they think he is coming here to run the show I will laugh

Knicks should stop trying to overpay for players--especially back ups--we already went throught that with Scott layden.

They owe Marbury 17mm $ why dont they just get their money value out of it? He is way better than Duhon and its not like the Knicks are winning 60 games. They will win more with marbury than Duhon whther the whole team hates him or not.

I agree Briggs. He's not a starter. He's a nice role player who will play tough defense. He'd pretty much be what Marcus Banks was, for the Suns. We still need to rebuild are starting lineup and decide what we want to do with Jamal and Nate. THEN we can worry about the Duhons and Arroyos.

If the Knicks are to trade for a Lowry, Rodriguez, Conley etc. it would make sense to have a Duhon on 2 yr contract to back him up/ split time. I think the Knicks are just exploring all available options at PG. They'd be stupid not to find out what Duhon's asking price is. Talk him down all you want, but he'd be a quality backup PG for any team.

side note, if they are trading lee (and being cheap)...then it would have to be for a pick or a rookie b/c otherwise they will have to extend a player or bring back a guaranteed contract in 2010.

We should take 3-4 PG prospects and join both summer leagues and look around the league. Last year Ramon Sessions was a 35 pick in the draft--then he blew up in year 1--not saying he will continue at that pace but it shows to look at the underdeveloped untested in a serious way and maybe you will find something you like. I know this guy has been brought up a few times but Jamont Gordon is 6-4 230 and in his junior year average 17-5-4 with good D. My bet is he is better than Duhon now and we can get him for 400k

Walsh isn't giving out Isiah MLE contracts so you don't have to worry. If he comes cheap and for 2 or 3 years, why not?
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Why not go after J Crittenton, His stats are just as good as Lowry, Duhon etc. with less minutes & could probably be had for less then Felton.

Most definately to Jamont Gordon, love his game, great handle, physical force at the point guard spot. I don't know how he didn't get drafted, we should sign him to a minimum contract right away. I also like crittenton he has nba body skills and athleticism he just has to develop.
