Isle you think you got it figured out. Your going to listen to rumors from a newspaper and deem them true. First if Lee is traded a team would be dumb not to sign him right there like Minnesota did Jefferson. Why would Memphis give up th 5th pick for a guy who can walk next year? Do you really get off attacking a 25 year old kid you know nothing about and has done nothing wrong at New York while he is there. I guess David would be hurt having a grown man who lives in his mom basement, typing in his underwear and saying bad things about people. Can I come over later today and play rock band? Grow up

Rock Band Rules.

And no, you can't come over and play.

The stupidity from some of you guys is a joke. The kid doesn't want to play in Memphis, so you lose respect for him, they are a terrible team in a boring city.

He is the most efficient player on this team, and had to deal with not starting for two seasons, because the coach was a ****ing joke, but he kept quite he played hard and went about his business.

Unlike players like Crawford, Nate, Balkman, he actually connects with the fans, spends time with them at team events, actually attending them. Would the deal be good long term yes, but business or not people have a comfort zone. If someone sent you to Memphis while you were comfortable living in new york because your company wants you to go.

Give me a break.

Thank you. Seriously reading this thread really made me question why I bother to waste my time reading such ridiculous opinions in the first place.

Fuck David Lee.

Trades and relocation are part of the business. If Lee loves it here so much I'm sure he'll sign a nice Knicks friendly extension. Or he's just another selfish prick who thinks he's bigger than the league.

i don't blame lee for not wanting to go there. i don't buy that deal anyway pick 5 for lee and $7 million of cap relief? no way. it makes no sense, the extension you have to sign lee to eats up the cap savings, it makes no sense.

I love all you guys but come on man you guys are nuts!!!!!!!! What would I do if I got traded to Memphis???? If I'm a young role player in this league on the verge of free agency and I get traded I deal with it until I am a free agent and gain control of my own destiny. That's it. Read my post on the other Lee thread for further opinion... Respectfully, you guys are way off base. I can see what you're saying about the FU David Lee stuff (guilty of it myself & I take it back) but as a Knick fan that's desparate for improvement you can't be too happy about this news. I mean, what, every trade proposal has to be approved by David Lee and his people now?!?!? Listen to how stupid that sounds. And "comfort zone"???? As if being an NBA player on the verge of scoring a 40-50 million dollar deal soon isn't enough of a comfort zone. Gimmie a break. Come on man. Stick up for Lee here because you like him as a player not because you think he's getting some kind of raw deal here. I can't be the only Knick fan who's pissed off about this...

why is Lee, a guy who has never been a starter in this league automatically in line for a huge contract?

give him $6 million a year and keep him.

You don't really want to know do you? Brian Cardinal ring a bell

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Lee has averaged 9 rbs for a team that has won 23, 33, and 23 games.

And we will win less with Gallinari's 4 rebounds.

You mean David Lee doesn't fart sunshine and rainbows? Is this Ultimate Knicks?

Why is it so extreme here all the time? During the season I whisper that Lee may be a little overrated and I get tap-danced on. Now some silly unsubstantiated rumor and Lee is the anti-Christ.

Lee is not a great player, but a pretty good one with some limitations. Even if he expressed an opinion about not wanting to be in Memphis that just makes him a smart person. He can't make or break anything. He doesn't have a no trade clause.

Lee will be fine in D'Antoni's system. He'll be fine anywhere. He do what he do. It works for anybody.

And maybe if we can't trade him for a #5 pick, his value will go up some more and we can trade him for a proven vet. Or....*gasp*, maybe we'll keep him and he'll develop some offense and become one of the better forwards in the game. It'll be okay.

I mean goddamn!

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Last time I checked Lee doesnt have a no trade clause. There was nothing said to Memphis so take what you read with a grain of salt. Lee wants to be in New York and loves it here but he will go wherever he is traded play hard, make ft, rebound, miss jumpers and get burnt on defense. He will also never get in trouble and be a good teammate.

King, I think I'm leaning towards keeping Lee. I think he would really flourish in D'Antoni's system. I just hope he doesn't want too much money.

So next time I say this exact same thing you won't put me in a headlock?

Oohah what I agree I am protective but each year something in his game has improved. He has been in the league three years. Played with no leaders to learn from. THey hardly have practice, and he worked out alone in NY in the summer because the other players were eating and selling shoes. He hit his jumper 42% he took it like year and he will improve on that and defense. He shot 52% at the line and now is 80%. He isnt a finished product and will be a solid 14-11 guy if he plays 33 minutes a game.

I need to see a major skill added or improved this year from Mr. Lee. Either a goto Offensive move, a ten foot jumper that is automatic (Like Haslem), or enough interior defense that he can guard most PFs consistently. Improving his free throws were great but that is not enough.

I've always been accepting of the fact that most players need time to find themselves, Lee included. Lee should have started most of the time these past 3 years, it may have helped his development. But Knicks coaches are always looking for something past what they have, even if a good solution is right before them.

Lee might have to go because the Knicks want to shortcut the development process...again. If that happens, I hope they at least get good value in return.
