I don't see how this article proves we're going after Lebron. I also don't see how it matters what we do in two years unless we do a lot of good work leading up to those two years. We need to clear some big contracts and we need to bring in some young talent. The goals shouldn't change either way.

I'm tired of the defeatists, but I'm also tired of the optimists who somehow think sitting tight for two years for Bron and not doing anything else is a good idea.

i don't see why it's not feasible to try & accomplish both... we can keep drafting intelligently & leave ourselves open to making smart trades to try & unload some salary if a deal presents itself, or to acquire a stud player via trade using our expirings &/or picks if we need to... the one thing we absolutely must avoid is the moronic Zach Randolph type "let's just get a name & get the fans excited for no reason" type trades to get players that will not help this team improve or address any needs whatsoever & just ends up fugging up our cap for years to come

it's always good to have options, & something that opens up a ton of options for a franchise is having the cap flexibility to make deals & signings as well as quality young players that are gotten in the draft.

Yeah, I like those ideas. If we can make this team just a little more exciting for next season, without hurting the cap goal, then I'd be open to it.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Walsh said it in his own words. 'Make the cap flexible and go for LeBron'. Let's not focus totally on LeBron though. He should be on our biggest wish list as the first choice, but if we didn't get him, then we should also keep our options open. There is also Paul and Howard. There is no end to super star players leaving one team to go to another. We never had a chance to get one, because we never had flexible cap. Whatever Walsh does, it appears that it's gonna be great. In two more years.

KG is the perfect, perfect example of what can happen. Boston worked on it's cap space and finally put themselves into a position to make a killing and look at them now! Why can't we? Hell' we spend a hell of a lot more money then them.
I'll never trust this' team again.

i think everyone's focusing way too much on Lebron's name here & overlooking what's the real issue here, & that's gaining flexibility...

let's all just focus on getting flexible.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I think your right TMS. That would keep me from driving people nuts here.

And to think' I was considering starting an 'Official LeBron count down thread' from this date as start, and this date as finish, in two years. Huh!

Sheeezzzz! I can't even touch my damn toes, let alone kiss my own ass!
I'll never trust this' team again.
