DJ, don't spaz out: "He's [Gallinari] better than [Andreas] Bargnani, no question."

I agree that people go crazy over athletic players and over size. It's the same in football. How many Tim Carter's do nfl players have to draft before realizing that skill is at least as important as speed. Gallinari is a little slow for a sf, but he is strong, has a very good outside shot, can pass the ball, board. Looking at intangibles, they say he plays with fire, yet he plays smart. I don't think he's a reach at 6.

We're not talking about the next LeBron. I certainly wouldn't take him with one of the first two picks. But I think he's going to be a better all around player than Randolph or any other sf in this draft. Depending on who's picked ahead of us, he probably won't be my first choice at 6, but I wouldn't complain about him either.

But Bargs is a Bust so far, so that's not saying much.

I heard he's better than Frederick Weiss!

You know what's funny is how fans get behind whatever could potentially be fed to them. Our org is kind of giving feelers out we may pic DG at #6 and then like blind sheep our fans follow the shepherd. Our org could have said Bayless is appealing and the masses would be like 'hey his youtube videos remind me of a young Mitch Richmond I'll take it" or we could have hinted at possibly drafting Augustin and the masses would be like "hey his Youtube Vids remind me of a young Terrell Brandon I'll take it" or we could have hinted at drafting Mareese Speights and the masses would be like "hey his Youtube vids remind me of a young Jerome Kersey in his prime I'll take it"

The annoying part is that there is no Marreese Speights youtube clip. . It annoys me because I think he has enough potential for us to consider him, even though no one talks about him. Also I see how you'd be in any position to call people sheep.

Slimpack I'm just pointing out the trends here. This was the case with Frye, Balkman, and Chandler. Frye was going to be Duncan Lite, Balkman=Scottie Pippen, Chandler=Atheltic Reggie Miller. If we aren't skeptical of D'Antoni should we not at least be skeptical of who the team could be hinting at drafting? If we're supposed to step back and give D'Antoni and Donnie a chance then can we please stop trying to bandwagon everything they're doing or potentially may do?

Uhh.. on second though. People are hyping upt Gallinari because they think Management may draft him. . Although it's happening more on Realgm than on this board.
I'm actually not sold on him at all based on what I've seen. Although I will also admit that neither me (or any other knicks fan really) can really tell because neither of us have seen him play full games live.

I still don't see a lot of people here hyping up our picks as much as it's being made out to be. Most of the comparisons are to give an idea of the style of player a pick reminds someone of, not to say they'll actually BE JUST LIKE that player. That's just taking things far too literal, just cuz a star is mentioned in the same sentence as a draft pick. Now if you say a pick is going to be the NEXT whoever, now that is something to take word for word, but around here I rarely see that kind of post.

DG seems like he could have some real talent, but it's so early who knows how players will show over the summer. We could end up getting a Westbrook or Randolph once the workouts give us a closer look. OR maybe DG is the real deal and Waltoni ends up liking him more. I bet D'Antoni already knows ALL about him tho, so if we do pick him i'm not betting against him being good.

yeah DG has talent, but he seems too slow footed from what I've seen of him.
