Don't make the mistake of projecting Randolph in his rookie season.

This 6'11 manchild could be the ish in 3 years and we'd all be smacking our collective foreheads wondering what da hell Donnie Walsh was thinking when he passed on him.

Anthony Randolph IS the Euro some have been clamoring for

He will make the name Maciej Lampe a (very) distant fond memory by 2011

misterearl---I think Anthony Randoloph is a player many here will agree on as a solid pick. You're right--people will have to be somewhat patient because he still 18 years old and needs time to get stronger but in terms of what he has done at school+ natural size and skills+ age/potential+ system we are going to play---to try to find a player that will project better at 6 is highly unlikely. I already outlined why he is going to be better than Gallinari--i.e athletiscm length speed to go ALONG with SF type skills in what will be a natural 4 in 2-3 years. I have read where some people might not want a project/player who needs time but what you want in any draft pick is the BEST player--not necessarily in year 1 but rather when he is fully ready. The one thing nice about Randolph is that with his size and skills--in an open system he can play and contribute nicely NOW but will just get better and better as his body gets stronger.

Briggs - remember when Tayshaun Prince came out of Kentucky and all the traditionalists moaned about how he needed more strength to compete in the big boy NBA?

All he did was take that skinny frame anywhere on the floor, to not only make clutch shot after clutch shot - but also come up with a defensive gem or two when the Pistons needed it most.

Anthony Randolph begs a long and serious look as a player who can revolutionaize one frontcourt positioin by offering a unique skill-set on a 6'10-11 chassis. If he gains some extra muscle - cool - but my sense is that experience will be his greatest nourishment. If he does not gain one ounce of extra weight I'd audition him at the two guard and dare anyone to guard him on the break.

I trust that Donnie Walsh KNOWS what what available groceries D'Antoni can best use for his 2010 runnin' and gunnin' recipe.

is it time for Summer League yet?

If it was me I would trade Lee for a high enough pick to take Mcgee and Randolph--where the F does anyone think this team is going that fast anyway? Rebuild the entire frontline with guys who can run with skills and length and next year we can find a guard or two in the draft.

would u trade him to NJ for the #10? that would give us the means to draft both the players u'r looking for.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
