Walsh is no fool, he'll want nothing to do with Isiah. He's leaving the Pacers to side skirt the power struggle with Bird, why would he want to undertake one with Isiah? Why would he want to begin his term using a coach the team and fanbase doesn't respect?

Isiah is so done.

I guess it is time to Rejoice blue seats... I know you waited for this so long.. rejoice bro...

I am about to go drink one of these...

High gravity beer.. It packs a punch, but I want to celebrate..

President- Walsh
GM/Assistant- Mark Jackson
Coach- Rick Carlisle

As long as Mark Jackson is assistant, I think thats a good scenario. I wouldn't mind him as coach either.

Walsh is an older guy- he should groom someone and Jax would be as good a candidate as any.

No doubt. I wonder where he would be of more use to the organization? Coach or GM? I'll take either, but I want to maximize his basketball knowledge. He just seems like he knows the game as good as anyone when you listen to him.

Jax sounds like a coach to me.....The guy I wouldn't mind seeing Walsh groom at GM would be Greg Anthony.

I just realized the contract is for 3 years. I hope Dolan doesn't want another "win now" crap deal.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

i can't see why walsh wouldn't be president/GM. he left indiana b/c he was sick of sharing power with larry bird.

re: the coach, i think it will be rick carlisle or scott skiles. both will be defense-first, team-oriented players.

z-bo, curry, and marbury all gotta be gone.

Didn't he fire Isiah once already? This is so awesome ! Are there any good off/def assistant coaches out there? do you think anyone from the previous caching staff will remain?

This is what bothers me. Isiah seemed real upset in front of the media for awhile during the walsh rumors. Then suddenly, last thursday or friday, Dolan goes to his office and Isiah says he'll be here. Now he's praising Walsh. It sounds like Isiah is here to stay in my opinion.

He was saying good things about Donnie from before too. Isiah is probably a friend of his and what was Isiah gonna do anyway? Trash Walsh? He said the obvious - that he's a good executive.

Yea, as ****ty as Isiah is as a person, he's always tips his hat to people who deserve it. Anyone would.

Yeah I don't like it either. I'm reserving my optimism until I find out that Isiah is going to be removed from any executive position. I don't think keeping him as coach is a good idea but I could live with it for a little while.

he left indiana because he felt he was cramping bird's style.

i don't think this means isiah is gone by any stretch. i think walsh may actually be coming here with the notion of SAVING isiah.

I can't live with it. I think Isiah has done a horrible coaching job as well as GMing job. The Knicks need to detox right now.

Yeah, me either. I don't care if Walsh comes here if Isiah is also here. If that happens, I'm done with this franchise. It is clear Dolan is willing to put personal friendships over business and what is right.

i wonder if this walsh hiring was a direct result of the fan survey they just did?

DOES ANYBODY HAVE A LINK OF SUBSTANCE?

just did a google search & the only news that pops up is about Walsh leaving the Pacers at season's end.

http://nationalpost.pa-sportsticker.com/default.aspx?s=nba-news-display&nid=A18925031206392209A

nothing written in stone about him accepting the Knicks' offer, not even news that an offer was made... anyone else have something?
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

If Walsh keeps Isiah, Walsh becomes the new "Isiah".
