The day this board becomes less of a popularity contest is the day it will become that much better an experience. That's why I politely created the thread I made a few days ago, overall I agree with what you said.

popularity & respect is earned by posting good content on a consistent basis & respecting other posters' views even when they aren't in line with yours... if some posters don't feel they're getting the respect they would like perhaps it's time they change the way they conduct themselves on the forums & reconsider their approach towards other posters... just a thought.

I'm not concerned at all with how I'm perceived, especially not by you. I'm referring to when someone brings an idea to the table it shouldn't be frowned upon because it's a suggestion against a so called popular poster. Hitler could wake from the dead right now and inform the whole world humans need to practice the Golden Rule towards others and and he'd be right. Who cares who the message is coming from or who it's against if it's a reasonable one.

Like I said I better not hear one word when I start up threads this summer about potential off-season moves. Not in case that is Martin and Andrew have a problem with it only because they Mod the board. Matter of fact in the past I've been accused for Crying LOL out loud of hogging the board with too many thread starters. I can only imagine what would be said if I were to do what Briggs has done or continues to do.

Well since you have posted nearly as much in me in 4 less years I think you have had a good opportunity for your I SAY Ughs and everything else>>>>> Knicks posts. I try to bring reasonable content[except for this worthless jibber post] every time I put something down riught or wrong. I havent postyed 7k times why i think ISUGh stinks:) Cheers:)

I have 7,000 post of informative material yeah ok.

Vdesai made an NCAA Tourney thread, then for whatever reason it has been stickied.

So should we make posts about the NCAA in the stickied thread or continue to create our own because we feel we have more informative material to bring to the forum and satisfy our ego?

I've read several of your post Briggs all I was saying is if you feel like talking about Beasley, Rose, Thabeet or whoever else why make a separate thread on them every other day? Keep posting in the original thread you made if the discussion is closely related. Isn't a major point of discussion to follow those discussions?

[Edited by - TrueBlue on 03-24-2008 4:22 PM]

I think the two guys from real GM should realize they are not on realgm. I've never heard a complaint of someone posting too much or having too many threads until the last two days although Ive been here 6 years. If you want to start your own site--I'm sure you can do it.

no offense to you, but can't u just post all this stuff in a single thread? we get a new "This guy is the top talent available" thread every week.

[quote]Because now I feel 100% confident that I'm right on about this. I siad mark it down IF we PASS on Thabeet we will REGRET it.

I'm not from RealGM (I posted there but I post more at another Knicks forum) and I am not the first to tell you this. You seem to take offense to a simple suggestion. Nobody asked you to stop posting, that you suck, or anything else. All someone said was to try and put more in one topic because then some things get harder to track. That's all. There is no issue here.

I'm not sure where the RealGM comment comes from considering I've seen you post over there very recently. I've been here long enough to have gathered a feel of your content and frequency of posting. It seems like more than in the past it's a little much, maybe it's not. Briggs keep doing your thing because you are a popular guy... all I know is what I asked wasn't unreasonable and it was done politely.

Back to Knicks talk I'm done!

So am I! Walsh baby. This is petty nonsense. Honestly, you can post 3,000 topics for all I care. I just want to discuss the Knicks again in a hopeful manner!
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

seems to me you are concerned about it otherwise you wouldn't have made the comment about popularity determining how one is treated on this forum... i find it pretty funny that you would even think i cared how you felt about me... i made that comment as a general reference... if you're gonna act like a moron then be prepared to be treated like one... the posters on this forum who i respect know exactly who they are by the way i respond to them & i'm sure that's the case for everyone else in the way they engage in debates w/others... people who complain about how they're treated around here need to read over what they post on a daily basis & consider how they're treating others... whether you, GK or anyone else respects me is of little concern to me... i post my opinions the same as you or anyone else around here.

This is very interesting considering you went out of your way and jumped into the discussion with my quote, which didn't involve a discussion with you. I don't care about my popularity per say. I've made comments I'm more vilified here than Isles. I'm trying to make a point just because someone has high respect doesn't mean that one can't be wrong, or is above criticism, nor should it be an automatic to come to their defense. Now in this case, Briggs did no wrong but was critiqued about his posting format and some took it upon themselves to get real defensive. I want all of Briggs post to count and stick I just thought it would be best if it was more uniform and organized. I've actually responded to some of the ones he's made about the draft, tournament, NBA prospects. I'll admit, I got a little frustrated because I couldn't find a previous discussion due to the multitudes of closely related threads. In my suggestion I mentioned Briggs by name but didn't make it exclusively to him. I put the whole board in the group. I said what I had to say with Briggs it's all good at this point.

I don't think you care what I think of you. I'm making sure you know I don't care what you think of me. Let the 2 way street be the 2 way street.

if any of u think ur getting it worse than isles has over the years you're severely kidding yourselves... he was almost universally outcast over on the MSG forums for many of his comments, but he stuck to his guns & most of his predictions have come true... i think he's gained the respect of some of us who've posted with him for a long time, while i'm sure there are those who don't have any for him either... the same holds true for everyone here... respect is earned, u can't get it by asking for it or complaining about not getting it... it's not a question of popularity.

No one asked for respect or was complaining about it. Respect and Popularity are two different things. Some can be popular and not be respected at the same time. Raised a question of popularity to a double standard or possible hypocrisy.

Last time I check MSG isn't UK. I was talking about on this forum.

To chnage the subject and get back on course--NO ONE and I mean no one from the NY Knicks organization should have the right to scout and draw up a game plan for this draft. We've had a LOT of draft picks including a lottery pick since IT has been here and IMHO--it should be graded C at best OR NOT good enough.

I've noticed how far how fast Randolph and Mcgee have jumped up on radar screens from nowhere and I expect that once they get into draft workout scenarios--when guys can see their length athletic ability ballhandling and multi-skill sets for 3-4-5--they will jump to HIGH lottery

We havent had an exciting looking player like Anthony Randolph since I've been a fan. We don't have a C[like Nate Robinson said] who can go up and get it like Mcgee. I'm telling you go watch the game tapes of Anthony Randolph on yahoo. The guys is 6-10 and he can take the ball OFF the backcoard and bring it up court himself as fast as any big who has EVER played NBA basketball. He has a beautiful left handed stroke--he's skinny but he's long and wide and has the ability to post up and step out for the 15 footer or dribble drive penetrate. He has great lateral quickness for a 6-10 player with long arms that can disrrupt on defense. Mcgee is the second longest player in the draft behind Thabeet. He needs to stay in the post--and Im sure NBA teams will make sure of that--but at the end of the day the player is a 7-1 240+ athletic C who can HANDLE with a sweet touch with an unsually long wingspan that makes him play ABOVE other big guys.---the more I see the more it's obvious about their skills--what they bring to the table---there is NO way no how that these guys should NOT be in the NY Knicks top 5--no way.

Martin, instead of an "IGNORE" feature how about a "Beat Down" button instead. The terrible thing about the internet is that it gives courage to lesser men.

Gkfv2 in the future if you wouldn't have the cajones to say something to another poster in a bar, or any other social setting where there might be consequences to your actions, please hit delete & save us all some stress.

P.S. - sorry Briggs for taking us off topic again & for the record, I think you should be in the "new" Knicks war room because even though I dont agree w/everything you post I realize you always do your homework & let reason & not passion inform your choices.
