Rose. We need a point gaurd and he is a great one

It's very confusing after 2 but 1-2 are easy. There is no way that Michael Beasley isnt going 1. We need Michael Beasley so badly--he is a sure fire star. Rose has star caliber in him but he is NOT Michael Besaley. IMO you will also see Beasley's passing go into the 4-5 range in the nBA because hes a willing passer. Michael Beasley will average 24-25 points grab 9 rebounds with 4 ast shooting 50% year 1. In this case it could change the Knicks from a 20 win team to a 50 win team with a few other subtle moves. Rose will help but NO WAY will he have the same impact on this team Beasley would.
Michael Jordan in his prime would not turn this group into a 50 win team

i think it's safe to just cover every single player in the draft... that way someone can bump the thread & tell us all how they were so right about the player when they become a star in a year or 2.

Is Beasley a 3 or a 4?

He's better off in the league as it is today at the 4. He is however, easily athletic enough to play the 3.

I really want Derrick Rose because I think he is the bet fit for what the Knicks need. That said, you can't not take Beasley number 1. His value at the top of the draft is considerably higher than everyone else. You could pick him one, and perhaps trade down to get Rose + more picks; depending who's at pick 2, but it would be next to impossible to justify not taking Beasley at 1. Its a tough call though because you can't read a report on Beasley without his character and work ethic coming into question, and for this orginazation that really scares me. You don't have that problem with Rose, and I do think his LONGTERM potential is close to Beasley's.

After those two I think you have to go Anthony Randolph, He's the only other potential "franchise" talent in this draft in my opinion. After him I'd go wih Bayless or Gordon. A few above posters mentioned how difficult it was to judge this draft, completely agree.

Beasley clearly should go number 1, but I'm having trouble coming up with a scenario where he'll average 24 on 50% shooting year 1. Why don't we put a friendly wager on it?

By the way, I haven't forgotten our other wager where you claimed Oden would immediately be the best playerin the NBA in his 1st year - we'll get to see what happens next year.

He's an extremely advanced offensive skill player who will be nearly impossible to guard in the NBA because of his diversification in skills and size. If Carmelo can average 21-6 in his first year Beasley will easily be 24/25-8-9 50%--I am sure of it.

You're on. You're prediction: 24-25 on 50%. My prediction: 19-20 on 44%.

code, kind of hard for that bet to remain real when Oden never even played a game this season because of injury.

I wonder if he'll still be considered a rookie next year?

Why is it hard to keep the bet for next season? The bet involved whether Oden would be the best player in the NBA in his 1st year -so that would be next year, when he starts playing.

Mine would

1. Beasley
2. Gordon
3. Jordan
4. Bayless
5. Mayo
6. Thabeet
7. Rose

How do you have Rose 7th ?

IMHO he's overrated I've seen him play twice and he's not that good to me. He isn't close to Paul or Deron IMHO. He might be as good as Felton. When you think about it 3 yrs prior to last yr's draft the Top 3 Collegiate players entering the draft haven't been Superstars and barely been All-Stars. The only player I feel is the sure thing is Beasley. Therefore I'm going off of who I feel are the best players who could contribute right now, given their position or the players who have the biggest upside. It takes about 3yrs to develop good point guards on average. I'm not interested in someone like Rose as much as others.

Hansbrough isnt coming out and he isnt better than Lee. He is a 6-8 post man and not near as athletic. Tyler is my guy but he will struggle in the pros

He IS coming out and he is 10x better than Lee. you, my friend, have obviously not seen enough Tar Heels game the past 2 years.

Hansborough is the BEST big man coming out this year. And in reality, the only college player ready to play RIGHT NOW in the NBA.
Beasley is benefitting from damn near being the only scoring option in KS...same as Gordon but Gordon is more inconsistent.
Rose plays with 4 other future NBA players...

Thabeet is a bum

Hibbett is a BIGGER bum.

This years draft is weak. All these freshmen need to stay another year.

Brook Lopez is the best big man coming out

I like Beasley, but when I watch him I just see him not caring. This is a guy I can see coming in and just living on his athleticism and not caring at all about winning a championship. He just doesnt seem like he has alot of heart. I could be wrong, I havent all that much of him.

I LOVE Derrick Rose. Point guards always take awhile to develop and I think with time he would be up there with Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

Id be happy with Bayless as well. Def not Eric Gordon, whos going to be a classic tweener. Mayo is ok, I think a bit overhyped but not a bad choice at all. I dont care for Brook Lopez or DeAndre Jordan either.

WHat about Westbrook from UCLA. I dont know if hes a top 5 pick, but he's solid.
