Thanks so much guys, we booked the Quality Inn Long Island. We paid 1000 USD for 7 nights, which I think is great. The hotel is brand new and is located next to a big subway station, which is what we wanted.

I will now try to get tix for the Knicks season finale at MSG against the Celts, and for one of the two Yankees-Red Sox games played that week. Are there a lot of rainouts in NYC in April ? I'm just scared about that, but it' part of going to a baseball game.

Yankees-Red Sox will be great, I don't know if I should also go to Shea Staidum...

I think if you don't mind not being in the center of Manhattan then those options work pretty well.

Long Island City is right across the East River from Manhattan and near good trains for getting to the city. The 7 train will link you to pretty much every major subway and take you directly to Times Square, Grand Central Station and Bryant Park/Old NY Public Library.

P.S. 1 is a cool museum too.

Yes' P.S.1 is' a cool museum. But just make sure you get on the right train, going in the right direction. It's easy to get lost. Make sure. Don't trust people on the street. Show no fear, but don't be a jerk either. Just keep moving at least until your in midtown. This is not to bum you's out, but just to give you some heads up advice.

I always advise people visiting, get yourself an area map and take it to the top of the Empire State buidling. You'll get a pretty good idea where your at on the ground, when you get an entire view of the city in your head. The tip of Manhattan is always considered more south and Central park is always considered more north. Slightly off, but it helps. From those two points, you'll pretty much know what direction your going, when in Manhattan.

Once you get the hang of it, you'll have fun. Let us know how it went.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Well Shae and Yankee Stadium are in thier last years. I'm gonna go see a few at each one before the season ends, just to say goodbye. Up to you.

The rain, who can tell when it's gonna rain? It is a fact that the State of New York is second to the state of Georgia in rain fall per year. Everyone thinks it's Seattle, Washington, but it isn't. They do everything they can to get the games in. More than likely though, it will probably rain a lot in April. So good luck on the Boston game. if worse comes to worse, sign up for the tour of Yankee Stadium.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Dude must mean Long Island City, which is really close to Manhattan and wouldn't be a long subway ride at all. Some areas of LIC can get more sketchy, but since you're from a big city already I'm sure you know how to deal with that

Unfortunately, I think Yankee-Red Sox is gonna be very expensive for you. One of the hardest tickets to get. Check stubhub.com, but I don't know if you're gonna get a good deal on this.

As far as hotels.....there is a Howard Johnson on 34th street. Its kinda hidden next to a Popeyes chicken, but people won't pay you any mind coming outta there. The entrance looks smaller than a store front.

Its April Frenchy.......you should have a blast out here. Spring is the absolute best time to come to the city. Hold hands and please don't argue or spend any daylight screwing for that matter. Just bang those streets and have some fun.

The Bums here on UK could help you out if you need any advice. If you have the internet on your phone? Marvelous.

yeah, you can be like Eny and run from public toilet to public toilet and not miss a post on UK or BangBros.

I'll never trust this' team again.

Oh and Roosevelt Field has a link to Paris. Charles Lindberg was the first pilot to fly solo non stop across the Atlantic to Paris in 1927.

'Spirit of St. Louis' right?

Wow, I just checked the prices on stubhub... so I guess my choice is either to take my gf to a crappy seat at a classic rivalry game, or to a great seat at a Mets-Nationals game...

In a sense, she doesn't care at all about who is playing since she doesn't know anything about baseball. She might enjoy the better seats at Shea...

What do you think ? It will be my last and only chance to go to Yankee Stadium as well (never been there).

Also Yankee Stadium is a more fun atmosphere, especially in the upper deck

Hey Frenchy.....

Good choice of Hotel if its the one I think it is. The 7,N,W, E,F,G trains are right there. And yes from the Queens bourough plaza station.....its not even 5 minutes cuz the next stop from there is 59th and lexington in manhatten!

Only thing is service changes on the weekend, after mid-night during the week and from 10am to 3pm with the MTA.......but yo....less than 5 mins to the city turning to 15 mins cuz of delay is a major inconvienience! Lol.

Hey check out MTA.info to take a look at a subway map to get you familiar with some routes so you don't sound like a douce when you ask for directions......

but if you're at queens plaza - even if you want to take a cab, from midtown manhattan, it shouldn't cost you more than $20 to get back to the hotel.

definitely try to catch a game during ur stay here at the House that Ruth built... it will likely be your one & only chance to ever experience it... even if u have to get seats up in the nosebleeds, do it... the view isn't half bad even in the top row by the roof... just seeing that field & knowing you're in a place w/so much baseball history will be rewarding enough IMO... that is if you're a baseball fan.
