As much as I want Isiah fired aswell, I'd take the option of Kiki taking over in the front office with Isiah still on the bench as opposed to Isiah being allowed to keep jobs going into 08-09.

I think Isiah will end up being fired next season some time anyway as Kiki tries to remake this roster. Why not keep Isiah on and let him take the bullet while we rebuild, then bring a better option once kiki has his parts in place.

I thought the whole reason for optimism was that people thought Dolan might let the next GM actually have freedom to do genuine rebuilding. Now we see that he's not even gonna let the next GM pick his own head coach.

I understand the concerns here at the same time Dolan recently gave I SAY UGH a 4yr extension. If he fires him he'll have to eat a good chunk of that contract. The guy has already cost him several million dollars. Add to the fact he has to pay Kiki a hefty wage on top of having Grunwald and Mills here in high profile roles. If he fires I SAY UGH and doesn't promote from the bench he'll more than likely pay another hefty salary allowing Kiki to hire a high profile coach.

And Isiah will do everything in his power as coach to prove that his 20% is better than Kiki's 80%. Or he'll just sabotage the whole thing to prove that getting rid of him and hiring Kiki was a mistake.

i tink the previous coach has tried that already....it didn't work

I bet Herb would be cheap, and at least you'd purge the stench of Zeke.

What does that have to do with the concern about whether Kiki would actually have full control over the term? I think either I'm misunderstanding your comment or you misunderstood mine. My concern is that Dolan will require Kiki to do re-tooling like we've had all decade rather than letting him have full control to do real rebuilding. And if he's not even gonna let Kiki pick his own coach, I can't see him giving Kiki full control over the direction of the team. (I wasn't concerned over how much money Dolan would have to pay Isiah.)
