The idea of getting Carter is intriguing, but to me it has to be preceded or followed by about 3 or 4 other trades.

The first is getting Ben Wallace from Chicago (Ford said there is a standing offer of Malik and Q-which Chicago doesn't want).

The second is trading for Mike Miller and Kyle Lowery(Crawford and Fred Jones?)

The Third is getting Zach Randolph out of here and opening up the PF spot for David Lee(Randolph to Denver for Najera, Smith(Both FA's at end of year), and Hunter).

Wallace
Lee
Carter
Miller
Lowry

What's that team going to do other than lose games?

Again...for the love of god people need to stop thinking this team is fixable.

Tear it entirely down. Then start adding pieces to a mix of kids and draft picks a few years from now.

Stop taking other people's garbage.

This trade should read Curry and Crawful for JWill and Davis. That's what this trade should be and nothing less.

Of course Isiah wants OKneel and Wince. I'm not surprised. I'm also not surprised that Isiah and his few remaining supporters think such trades are a ticket to success.

I don't know how much more I can take of this crap......I already can't stand more than half the players on this team and that's sad.

If New Jersey receives those expirings and some sort of pick and we end up with Vincetta, can we officially say the only way the Knicks get released from Bondage is if Moses shows up?

who is going to trade a draft pick for anyone on NY? the entire league knows NY is FUBARed with all the redundant pieces with bloated deals Isiah kept acquiring.

I will remain in the minority I suppose in thinking adding Vince and getting rid of Curry plus Q or Jeffries will actually benefit the team. don't need half-man half amazing Vince, just the one who still commands a double and can beat it with ball movement.

I don't exactly need a draft pick. Expirings will work just fine.

Anybody can instantly fix the problem by switching from Manhattan Knicks to Brooklyn Nets.

It belongs in Brooklyn?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This team should be looking for Cap relief and picks at this point. We're clearly gonna be looking towards the draft to find the next franchise player for this team, so what the heck do we want with an aging Vince Carter?

I think we've got some decent pieces in Nate, Lee, Jamal, Balkman etc. now we need to find that STUD to lead the team and build around. It would also be nice to add picks so that we can finish building this team with better players. Come on isiah the blueprints already there for you. THINK PORTLAND! THINK NEW ORLEANS! It's called having your eyes opened seeing and accepting reality. It's unreal a fan such as yourself would accept such a trade.

Because Gimp-sanity (as flaky as he is) sells tickets. Tickets = $$$$ in Little Jimmy's pockets - which is all that matters to him.

I don't think you can even argue that Vince sells tickets anymore, no one went to Nets games and his jersey isn't even in the top15 anymore.

To be fair to the Swamprats, when they were contenders, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan couldn't get people to go their games either.

to establish a winning atmosphere, you need guys who can play whether you have enough overall talent and chemistry to win 25 or 50.

thats the reason even though they had a young Lebron Ferry chose to sign Z at 29 going on 30 years old to that 4 year extension rather than throw it to some youthier hopeful like Curry.

thats the reason Detroit resigned McDyess even though they had Max and Amir waiting in the wings.

thats the reason Cassell got re-signed and Brev is still around

thats the reason NO was patient with Peja

thats the reason Boston traded for 30 plus bad ankle Ray Allen

thats the reason Phx traded for Shaq

and so on and so forth...

if the cost is o more than Curry and one or best case two of our irrelevant swing men, I say GET'ER DONE!!!!!

If we could get O'Neal for Curry, that is a no brainer. JUST DON'T GIVE UP OUR DRAFT PICK. I don't want Carter because he is not really going to help this team win more games. He would add to our offense, but our defense is what is really holding this team back and he is not going to improve us in that area.
Trust the Process

Portland has a point guard?

as for NO: alomg with that great point guard is a great all-around power-forward and a swing in Peja who could hit 100 plus 3's shooting a beachball who both KNOW HOW TO PLAY. Chandler - as a shot-blocker, he is average. but he is hell on the boards and kudos to him for learning how to catch and make a basket-ball move in one motion.

While I agree with your post, I don't agree that Carter is that guy. Remember what happened in Toronto? Vince stopped playing completely.

vince carter detracters suffer from "he should've been jordan" syndrome.

vince the past 2 seasons:

06/07: 82 games, 45 fg% (19.5 fga), 35.7 3fg% (5.4 3fga), 80 ft% (7 fta), 6 rebs, 4.8 asts, 1 stl
07/08: 48 games, 45 fg% (16.6 fga), 33 3fg% (3.5 3fga), 80 ft% (5.8 fta), 5.6 rebs, 5.2 asts, 1 stl

even in the "wince" stage of his career, he's better than 85% of the leagues sg's.

ok but I also remember what happened when he got to Jersey with him and Kidd putting a just emerging Nenad and NBDL talent on their back for the second half of the season and making the play-offs

I might attribute that more to Kidd, but you're right there's no doubt Carter played a huge role in that.

Personally, I think capspace and draftpicks are more valuable at this point than adding a guy like Carter.

No one denies his talents most question his heart and desire to win. I mean his own teammate Kidd did and most fans know Kidd has the heart and wants to win.

We don't want to sell our soul(hurt our cap even more) for a 7-8th seed possible playoff berth on a guy who isn't that great of a winner. Who cares what his stats say. Every player we traded for that was an Albatross had the stats and other parts of a resume to make a case for acquiring them.
