I thought the superman dunk was worst thing I have seen since Cedric Ceballos with that ridiculous blind fold. However, I thought the dunk Dwight did starting from behind the backboard was nice. As far as Green, How many times is he going to do the same dunk?
It seemed like he could do the backboard one in his sleep. (I think he just messed up on the throw off the backboard the first time, but you could tell the 2nd time that he had no difficulty.) The superman throw down I think he could complete very rarely: It's almost impossible to throw it that hard from that great a distance from the rim and have it go in. That's probably why people dunk by touching the rim with their hands rather than throwing it down. I'm actually shocked it did go in.

I still think the finish was cheesy but liked his creativity and showmansship. The guy is a FREAK OF NATURE

I hear what you are saying Bonn. The main reason why I was not impressed is because he did not dunk it. I was a huge Shawn Kemp fan. So looking at Howard dunking the ball did not really impress me. I also know guys that are 6'4 that can do 360's off the verticle. So looking at someone just throwing the ball in the hoop does not do it for me. I think what Jason Richardson did a few years back was 10 times better. Richard did a dunk that VC has yet to do. J-Rich threw the ball off the backboard caught the ball through his legs and dunk the ball while doing a windmill.

Okay, not for anything. But when Dwight Howard dunks a basketball he isn't flying. I want guys 6-0 tall. I want guys that really fly. Enough of this 6-9, 6-10, 30 inch vertical crap.

Cmon Bip give it up, Dwight Howard was superman and Souljs boy all in one.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Well, I would count what Howard did as a dunk. He won the contest for creativity more so than degree of difficulty. I think after about 20 years of dunk contests we've seen so many different kinds of dunks that now you have to do something really creative to impress people. I actually think Gerald Green's (or was it Rudy Gay?) dunk where he threw the ball off the backboard from the side was more impressive than Dwight Howard's but Dwight did his first. I got the impression that Dwight could do that dunk in his sleep where he threw it to himself off the backboard too. No one else could, but I think he could.

that wasn't even a dunk on the Superman one... he threw the ball into the basket cuz he came up short... that was an awesome idea but i thought he didn't deserve that 50 for that one... Kenny Smith almost gizzed in his suitpants over that one... calm down Kenny... best dunk of alltime? i don't think so.

I loved how he threw it down. I think it's much harder to do that and get the ball to go in than it is to do a "traditional" dunk where you touch the rim with your hands.

it's alot harder to reach the rim from where he took off getting that much height & then dunking it too, which he was supposed to do but didn't... it's not a dunk when you throw the ball into the basket in my eyes... it's called the dunk contest for a reason for me... i wanna see them slam the ball down on rim w/some authority.
