The only thing I want from the Knicks is more draft picks and for all of the these contracts to expire.

exactly why it would make sense to get rid of Zach's contract for someone who's contract expires a year sooner... JO's still got some game left & he blocks shots, something we desperately need in our frontcourt.

Naw we need a $60mil power forward with bad knees and shoulder, along with Ron Artest, Mike Bibby, Corey Magette, Mike Miller, Charlie Villanueva, Wally Zerbiak, Vince Carter, and Richard Jefferson.

That should just about do it.

naw, let's just stand pat & watch this current collection of no defense playing offensive players make a mockery of the next 3 seasons... that should just about do it.

You trade Zach for expirings and/or low first round or multiple second round picks. Try and generate deals that provide large or small Trade Exceptions and sign FA to 1 or 2yr deals with it. You don't rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic for Jermaine O'neal, only to watch him play 50-75% of the season and have us be a 40win team at best. Enough is Enough trying to achieve mediocrity.

Some of these posts are rediculous. Oneal would improve the interior D by a million percent.

You can't improve ANY defense when you're out injured.

LOL! before the Pacers beat us they lost 7games in a row and O'neal missed every single one of them but defensively he helped them.

seriously can't understand the opposition to this one... if it means just a straight up trade w/filler contracts it benefits us in every way imaginable, whether JO plays or not... that last year of salary is huge... anything we got from JO in terms of play is a bonus AFAIC.

where are we headed if we stand pat bro? think about it... nothing's gonna change unless we make moves to make it so... this trade isn't taking on any extra years in salary, so how does it really hurt us? no one's suggesting we give up a D Lee or a draft pick here... if the Pacers wanna unload him that badly we can certainly accomodate... there aren't exactly many requests coming our way for Zach's services as it is, not that he's a crappy player, let me make that clear before the Zach brigade comes crashing down on me for bashing the guy.

hell, if JO doesn't play it can even help us in the long run... not only would we be able to get rid of that last year on Zach's contract, we also would see D Lee starting games for a change like he should be doing in the first place & God knows not many of us are really opposed to that... also could mean a better pick in the lottery, but hey, what do i know? we can keep trying to add offensive players who play no D & hope we can sneak into that 9th slot in the lottery next season.

TMS Zach and J.O. both make the same amount in total value of their contracts. Actually J.O.'s is richer overall by about $2mil and he makes about $6-7mil more per yr than Zach on average. So the extra yr really isn't as big a bonus as you're making it out to be.

doesn't matter to me how much he makes, the important factor is that his contract expires a year sooner... it may not look like a benefit now but it sure will 2 years from now, bank on it.

If it's all about moving a contract to cut a yr/some yrs away why not trade Zach for an expiring(s) and pick(s) no need to jack your cap up even more for 2yrs on a gimp player. Do what Portland did. Trading for O'neal guarantees us nothing.

Who says Indiana wants Zach Randolph?

I'm saying our approach should be not to acquire an Albatross High Risk Player.

So basically Portland can do it but we can't which I guess makes us the Forever Suckers!

sheesh, did i say Indy wants Zach? i'm saying u guys are crazy to say you wouldn't make the deal if it was offered to u... can u just for once just take something i post at face value & not include your own weird spin on it?

acquiring an albatross high risk player while unloading our own... what's wrong with that?

Because it absolutely guarantees us nothing while hindering us for 2yrs. And just because you don't hear anyone in your mind giving us expirings for Zach, are you saying you wouldn't go that route before others?

Waiting 2yrs for a contract to expire while a player stands a chance to blow out his knee or separate his shoulder again doesn't sound appealing at all. No one said standing pat is the way to go either. Many fans want this mess blown up so confining trading for J.O. or standing pat as the only choices is you trying to box in the choices.

of course i would go that route, but i don't see a chance of it happening... that's like asking me would i rather we unload all our crap contracts & start fresh from scratch... of freakin' course i would but that's not dealing in reality... who knows if Indy's even interested in what we have, but if a deal is on the table IMO u have to look into it, that's all i'm saying.

anyways, holding onto Zach & standing pat guarantees us nothing but the same ol' crap we've been witness to for the past few years... get that contract off our books & let the chips fall where they may i say... i ain't trying to box in nothing... if u can name me better realistic options than standing pat, i'm all ears like i said before.

Isiah has got to speed up the process on something. Trash in trash out. Right now it doesn't even matter what the Knicks get as long as there is a process leading to something.......it all should eventually lead to winning I guess.

There's gotta be a plan. This season is lost unless something extrodinary happens.......

My whole thing is do something! Knicks can't just stand pat. There has to be forward mobility. Dnever wants Zach? Let them have him.........pheonix wants Craw? See ya! Chicago wants Curry? Would you like some fries with that?

Fuck it.....as long as the Knicks can clear cap, and tack on players the Knicks need.

I understand people people not wanting to make trads, or at least not wanting Isiah to mae trades. BUT treading water is also not the answer. adding role players will not remarkable change our lotto pick, IMO.
