Yea he knows the game?
The guy has brought in players that don't know how to play, hasn't helped teach it to them, and hasn't helped them mature as players.
I don't care what he did on the court it has no baring on what he has done with the Knicks. To say Isiah has a good understand of this game is just plain stupid.
The guy thought the following could work
Marbury & Francis
Curry & Randolf
He thought Curry was a franchise talent and said no one the past two drafts was better than curry. Meanwhile Roy is one of the best ****ing guards in the league, Gay and Aldridge are future allstars and Noah would have been an upgrade over Curry (As would Kurt Thomas I might add).
He overdrafts all the time outside of David Lee reaching on players like Frye who is terrible, Collins who can't play ball, and Chandler who can't break this ****ty rotation. Takes a small foward with four good pg prospects on the board, not to mention signed two players to long term deals that can't average above 4pts.
If you know the game you don't make the moves he has made, you don't have a staff in place that doesn't know how to improve the players or get through to the garbage you bring in. He doesn't know a thing about coaching, rotations, defensive matchups. He is the biggest disgrace in the hitory of this city.
A guy that understands the game, understands what winning a championship is all about doesn't bring in 11 guys that can't play defense, when thats what wins in this league. He doesn't bring in consistent outside scores, a guy that can distribute the ball. You can't **** up the way he has done if you tried, if you tried.
So his resume has nothing on it, outside of failures in Toronto, the CBA, Indy, and the New York Knicks.
So is it fair to say that Isiah knew the game only as a PLAYER, which is what I believe also ? He's got the rings and the leadership (once again, as a PLAYER) to back that up. He's considered to be one of the greatest little men of all time, which is a very reasonable statement IMHO.
There's a fine line between having talent and having an eye for talent. It's highly apparent he doesn't have the latter.
