Both players have had good stretches before. The problem with a good stretch is you're evaluating the player when they're at the top of their game and evalauting it as if it were their average. It likely isn't. Do I think Marbury is a big part of the reason why they're putting up better numbers? Yes, of course. However, do I think they can maintain this? Undecided, at best. If they can play well for the rest of the season, then we have something to talk about. I'm not getting excited over one particularly good stretch when they've had plenty of bad ones in the past.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

As to nate, that is not really true. He has never put up assists numbers like these before, especially while holding his turnovers so low. At the same time, he has always been a really good shooter, and would put up points whenever he got minutes. One of his problems right now is that he is holding his offense back a little bit, I think in order to play the role of distributor. This is good, but at the same time, this team needs his outside shooting and it needs for him to be aggressive.

If you check either players monthly splits, neither has ever had a stretch like this, especially Nate. I take this month into light, especially because this is one of the first extended times they've gotten a chance to play without Marbs. Obviously its no predictor of future performance- but I just wanted to put into numbers- and use some efficiency stats to illustrate how well they've played. Obviously play at this level is more than adequate from a starting NBA backcourt.

With all this said do you still trade Nate and/or Crawford or use them as building blocks towards the future?

I certainly said Marbury is definitely a factor. That being said, too many times we've gotten very excited over short stretches, only to be disappointed. I just need more time to be convinced that this isn't just another phase. My instincts tell me not to be fooled by these guys again.

It's a day to day thing. I'll be sure to look at next month's data as well. My only concern right now is are we seeing players develop. Looks like the arrows are pointed in the right direction with these guys.

Part of developing these is increasing their overall value. 2-3 months to end the season like this from Nate and now we're talking about a real valuable piece instead of a throw in. Crawford also is playing up to his contract level (or as close to it as any non-rookie scale player on our team). Contrary to popular belief he is not immovable, and at this level he'd be a pretty attractive piece for a team to acquire.
