Cos, the labels on the players are all fair game... hell, they make enough money to warrant em.

but when you try & be objective around here & then get labelled a "hatter" or "lover" depending on which way your comment tends to lean, it gets extremely annoying to say the least... Bip was talking about the same exact thing a while back & no one seemed to take him seriously but a few of us... now he hardly ever posts here... i dunno if that drove him away or if he's just busy raising his kid, but i do know that it annoyed him too... i'm sure we're not the only ones to feel this way... but whatever... i won't be making any stupid announcements if i decide to take a break from here... this board is in my blood now... i don't see myself leaving anytime soon no matter how many idiots get under my skin.

Seriously, its pretty boring right now. You can predict the canned responses to anything you post at this point.

Stop with the stupid labels. Stop with the immature responses. Stop dissing players just because you don't like the shape of their heads. Stop making fun of other posters. Stop sucking up to the mods. Stop being sarcastic. Stop riling up papabear. Stop posting so much and get a life.

It's funny but i've completely stopped using labels and have for a long while now. Part of the reason was the issues that came up with Bip and others. I realized how it only leads to personal arguments and a total lack of constructive conversations. When I was attacked for being positive, I was too emotional in my responses and used labels too loosely. It didn't matter tho, cuz I still get the same crap as if i've continued to use labels, despite not doing it myself this year.

I've tried to tone down my comments and keep it about the issue rather than attacking individuals. It hasn't worked because as TMS is pointing out, there are some with an agenda here. They look for opportunities to attack people for any statement that leans towards a positive take on anything and sometimes even a negative take. It's not a discussion of the topic but a personal viewpoint argument and that leads to ugliness.

yup, that's exactly what i'm talking about... the issues get clouded because of all the extra BS witty retorts that people feel they need to use to get a point across... & that always leads to a flame war... i don't feign innocense because i get sucked into it everytime, but i always give respect to those who reciprocate & can argue a topic w/o being a moron... the others deserve no respect... & then there's BasketballJones, who's in a class all his own.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

In all seriousness, the lovers gave themselves that title and similar titles, as well as calling the "haters" not real fans. I think the board is more peaceful lately, now that most of the idiots who couldn't listen to the "haters" opinions have left the board, while other posters who had been stubborn earlier now see that the Knicks really are that bad. I've actually thought the board is coming together more. The hater and lover labels are probably unnecessary, since I think the board is generally in agreement on the sorry state of the team.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

In agreement on the situation, but not necessarily on the roster itself. I've been railing against the Coach more than the actual team. I think we need some better players added, but I also think many of the guys we already have can be coached better and that they can continue to develop. There's a marked difference in view of the team in that sense. I'm not looking to blow up the team.

I was optimistic because I thought we had some decent talent and that with proper coaching these players could've been in the mix for the playoffs. I lay most of the blame on Isiah for not having a good plan for blending Zach into the mix and also for not making some obvious moves to deal with our deficiencies defensively. YES the players share some blame for not playing hard, but I don't believe that they are incapable of doing that. A big part of that is having a coach that demands effort. Jerry Sloan is a guy like that. Certain coaches just won't put up with slacking or sloppy play and the way to deal with that is a lot like raising children. You have to have a short leash. If you never let them get away with slack play, then they get used to that and will always hustle and play hard. You have to respond quickly. If you give them too much rope they'll take advantage of the loose rules and that's how you get to the level of poor effort we saw.
That doesn't mean you have to curse and act crazy, you just have to have a disciplined approach and demand respect.

I really feel closer to all of you now.

I too felt at one time to make an announced departure announcing my sabatical and clense my emotional colan to what this team is doing to me.

Then I realized I need the UK breatherin. I need this site, I need to be included in the collective brotherhood we call "UK"!!!!

Add it up, its factorial!

Sad.

Page 1 of this thread contain all the immature responses I would expect at Realgm. Is that what we have become?

Take the man seriously.

People are just being playful. We get a thread about stopping the labeling about once a week.

That alone is funny as hell.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Good point.

And actually, I never thought of it that way. I come here expecting agression sometimes. I guess it can work for some either way.

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.
