Isiah should just start these players and go with it. Nate pg, Chandler sg, Balkman sf, Morris c, and Lee pf. Crawford in for Chandler. Curry off the bench for Morris, Zack in for Lee. Jefferies in for Balkman. Mardy in for Nate. Coaches in the past use to start players for 5 minutes of the game and then bring in their really good players off the bench. I hope Isiah isn't trying to win game now, stop that Isiah if you know what is best for you next year is another year.

Keep the regular line-up, I want him to feel the pain Larry Brown had

How can my observations be dead wrong when it was Isiah who described the offensive system and I still believe that if he used more of those principles we'd be more successful. He's gone away from the concepts he came in with.

Tell me genius how the idea of more motion is Crap? Whenever we have more player movement and passing the offense looks much better. What is crap is the stand around and force it into the post offense Isiah has shown this year.

'luva, when you speak of the promised offense I assume you refer to The Quick offense that you were certain would utilize our "dual all-star" backcourt of Marbury and Francis to best advantage.

If you'll recall, we tried that at the start of last season. I don't remember the exact point when Isiah gave up on that pairing, "Hardawayed" Francis, and chose to force it low to Eddy, but I can tell you that at this point last season (27 games in) our record was 10-17. That in a season unmarked by death and bereavement.

Every year you seem to think it's little more than gosh darn bad luck that does them in, and all that's needed is for the dust to settle or a little tweak to the system to get them playing to their full potential.

This team has plummeted under Lenny, Herb, Larry and Isiah. How many more coaches are you thinking to try?

Curry isn't the one losing his man on D repeatedly.

BAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAWUUUUAAAAAAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAhAHAHAAAAA....

WOW

WOW

WOW

......no offense bro but I don't know if I can ever look at one of your posts the same ever again after that statement.

Not only does Curry loose his man more often than any professional player in HISTORY (yes I said it) but I can count on one hand the number of times he has rotated properly on defense.

He is THE worst defensive player in history... at least that I have ever seen. What do u smoke b4 u watch this team cuz I want some maybe it will lower my blood pressure and put some years back on my life

Curry's man D isn't the problem. When he does lose his man it's because our perimeter players have allowed yet another easy penetration. I was clearly not suggesting that Curry is a good defender. I'm merely saying that he's a convenient scapegoat for all of the teams problems.
To be sure Curry has stunk a lot more this year and he was lost for many games. I think he's got confidence issues and doesn't work hard enough. As a coach you have to find out what motivates a player and get's him going. I don't believe that Isiah has done that. Curry needs to be active and kept involved. When he is, he tends to do better overall. Isiah's lack of creativity on offense has led to Curry not being as involved as he should be and he loses focus and effort. It shouldn't be like that, but this is the reality of who Curry is. If you know this then you have to make sure to keep him involved. This year he rarely get's those easy alleyoops or layups due to the way we run the offense now and the offense stagnates and Curry loses focus.

I'll remind you like the others before you that this group hasn't played under all those coaches. MOST of these players have only played for LB and Isiah. Isiah's decision to move away from his offense is a mistake IMO. It was then and is now. Tell me what is so hard about running Curls, Screens, Cuts after making a pass etc? what is so hard about pick and roll or give and go? You make it sound like these concepts are so tough that our players can't run them. If you can watch the game again and look at the position of our players on most sets. Look to see how many times we actually run a set that has motion and the results of those plays. Aside from the one on one stuff with Jamal, we didn't really play any team ball. This year and even last year when we had 20 assists the record was good. That kind of ball and player movement is all i'm talking about and this team can do it. Isiah has chosen to run the offense the way it is now and it's too stagnant. If he wanted more movement then he'd run sets that had more movement, obviously he's changed his philosophy.

I'd really prefer to see Q removed from the starting lineup. He's too slow to guard the better SF/SG's. He's not scoring either, so he's a negative for us every night. I'd prefer to see Chandler play at this point. We're already losing. I have a feeling that Jeffries in the SL would be too many guys who can't hit a shot to stretch the defense. With Chandler he has at least a chance of hitting a shot and I think he can defend SF's. I know he's a rook and an unknown, but I'd rather give it a try and find out what he's got at this point, we already know what Jeffries is.

I'm not sure that we should bring Curry off the bench. I'd rather go with Jamal, Fred, Chan, Zach & Curry, but I have a feeling Isiah will go with Zach and Lee to start. I just think we've seen that kind of move backfire with the whole Steph thing. Curry isn't the one losing his man on D repeatedly. He's kind of a scapegoat in regard to the poor D.

Take for instance today's game, where we spent so much time doubling and tripling Kobe before he even did anything. Besides when has that ever been the right way to attack a guy like him. All he did was pick us apart with good passes. Last I checked Curry doesn't guard Kobe or any SG or SF. That's where we get killed every night. I may be in the minority but that's my take on the matter.

at this point Isiah should just play any player that looks like he is trying his hardest. And that's it. Curry's defense is bad, but more importantly he just doesn't seem that interested in playing basketball professionally. He's part of those guys that don't even compete. This team many times is just a disgrace to watch. It would be easier to watch the Timberwolves than it would be to watch this team.

From what i've seen of Curry he's been trying to defend harder. He's been going after more shots and his own man isn't always going off unless it's a smaller quicker guy. The team defensive concepts are awful from what i've seen. They lend themselves to open lanes and Curry looking bad. Like today, when we have our perimeter players running at Kobe and leaving shooters wide open or guys able to penetrate with ease. This exposes Curry rather than protecting him from having to try and block shots which he's not that good at.

As DJ brought up today, the Knicks bench guys defense is a bit of a farce, since it comes when we're way down and teams have backed off. Isiah built this team with Zach and Curry in mind as starters and he then has worked against that with the perimeter players he's going with. Jones, Balk, Mardy & Chan have the most physical ability to defend and only Jones has been used regularly.
Offensively Isiah has also not matched the lineup well with Zach and Curry as his frontcourt. You would think that he'd want to get guys in there who can shoot, penetrate and pass. Then you'd think he'd look to force defenses to be occupied with chasing those perimeter players which would leave Zach and Curry one on one and in a better position to score. I've seen a lot of basketball in my life and his coaching has been really bad this year all the way around. I thought he'd be better than this. He has such creative penetrator's and yet he's not really using that skill in our attack. It doesn't have to always be a static offense with just jumpers or postups. You can see that when we go away from the postups and play loose using our guards, teams can't stop it. Now a smart man would look to blend that with his post offense. Make use of that positive, but not Isiah.

So was it a farce late in the game, with the game in the balance, that jeffries defense and crawfords defense along with malik and lee, was that intensity a farce? were the lakers not trying to win?

The Knicks are in tank mode accept it and move on. Take the draft pick and get your leader. They stopped running plays a long time ago. Haven't you noticed Isiah even stopped calling timeouts during streches when the team is getting its butt handed to them. The tank is on baby I'm gonna enjoy it fully because in the NBA a team becomes good through the draft. The Knicks have some nice piecies on this current team all it needs is the player that basically grabs the team by the horn and tells eveyone on the team follow me and I will take you to the promise land.

I do believe Dolan wants to tank- otherwise, he changes coaches and this team will improve instantly.

i feel bad for the fans that spent countless hours supporting this guy and his moves when it's evident that he's in over his head as a gm. for once, i think every knick fan is in agreement that his tenure has been disastrous and he needs to go.

True, not all of these guys go back that far. But the power base did. Marbury and Crawford, two of our captains, where there. And the tawdry relationship between Isiah and Marbury, from which much of this team's chaos stems, was firmly in place at the time. The beast was spawned.

Putting aside that the same thing happened under Lenny too, most of the rest where here for Larry and two years for Isiah. This is the third consecutive year with this kind of play. How many seasons do you need to see it to know it's predictable? We're at three or four, depending on how you chose to count. How many more will it take?

Isiah's decision to move away from his offense is a mistake IMO. It was then and is now.

We were turnover city. Our record was largely the same even without the AWOL incidents, Isiah losing the team with the vote, and the bereavement.

Tell me what is so hard about running Curls, Screens, Cuts after making a pass etc? what is so hard about pick and roll or give and go? You make it sound like these concepts are so tough that our players can't run them. If you can watch the game again and look at the position of our players on most sets. I would have no problem with him running a more sophisticated offense if he thought the players could handle it. But in the meantime, Isiah is running pretty much the same offense as Larry Brown and Red Holzman. When guys play hard, execute and defend the results are much better. Haven't you noticed that even with this team?

Why would Dolan want to tank? This was supposed to be the year Isiah's plan payed off, and we'd have two frontcourt players in the all-star game.

We got motherphucking Zach Randolph. and we were gonna try to steal some shiny stuff.

Only one more week 'til we start thinking of coaching changes as well..I can't wait...

Papabear Says

Forget it! Zekes not going anywhere. Do you want another coach to come in here and maybe we win 33 games and it knock us out of getting a franchise player? We can turn this season into a win if we get the number 1 pick. Dolan ain't about to just give Zeke 24 million dollars just to sit around and play golf all day.

The fact that Isiah is now willing to change the line up I think is a sign that he's feeling pressure. To me that's a good sign. Isiah has always been laid back and unconcerned about his future here in NY, but now with his recent comments it seems like he feels that his job is for the first time in jeopardy.

If I had 25 million dollars comming to me even if I got fired I wouldn't be too bent out of shape. I'll just take my money and go play golf and be set for life.

Isiah can mess around w/the rotation til he's blue in the face... it's not gonna make this team any better than it already is... it's a very badly constructed team that lacks any balance whatsoever... he can milk a few wins out of it here & there but in the end he won't be able to fix this mess until he addresses the issue of the unbalanced roster.

I am making a big mistake in using logic, but to anyone who isn't a complete moron or blind, they can see that this team has 1. quit on isiah & 2. isn't as good as advertised but 3. capable of playing better.

If Dolan wanted more wins, it follows, he could simply fire Isiah, and this group would wake from its coma and probably get into a 30's range on wins, and maybe, might even be in a position to grab the 8th seed.

To most, I think, this is logical.

However, I think Dolan is addicted to Isiah - if I recall correctly, both have faced addictions in the past, hence the love fest for Vin Baker - and he is a moron.
