Don Chaney sucked, Herb sucked, Lenny sucked, Larry Brown sucked and Isiah sucked.

Get it through your thick heads. Its the players THE PLAYERS SUCK.

Lenny did not suck. He had an awful month and he still finished at .500.

Trade Toughens Pacers
By Greg Boeck, USA TODAY
March, 2002

It's far too soon to compare them to the Bad Boys of Detroit fame.

But off early returns, this much is evident: Indiana Pacers coach Isiah Thomas, arguably the toughest little guard in NBA history, finally has a team that mirrors the mind-set he brought to the two-time champion Pistons as their feisty floor leader in the late 1980s.

You want Dennis Rodman-like defensive work? Check out Ron Artest. You want Bill Laimbeer-like this-is-my-ball rebounding? Get a load of Brad Miller.

You want Isiah Thomas-like toughness? Listen to the coach.

"I didn't think we were a tough team," Thomas says. "If a team is going to reflect my personality, who I am and what I'm about, you want tough people, defensive-minded people who go out, roll up their sleeves and get a little dirty.

"You have to be a tough team physically and tough-minded. That's the type of team we're moving toward."

So what is it? Young and athletic or tough and dirty? I noticed he not once ever in his life mentioned smart and that's one of our biggest weaknesses. Maybe b/c he's not smart.

Nixluva just wait until the dust settles. It will all be okay

For the record: Everytime Isiah acquired these lazy players there were people on the board that said what you are seeing today was inevitable. You were warned.

Not every player on this team is lazy, so I disagree with your point. Yes there are some lazy players, but who are you talking about specifically, cuz it ain't a lot of the young players he's brought in, since they were known as high energy players? Curry & Jamal may be lazy, but not everyone else on the team. It's not just about being lazy, which is my point. At some point the coach has to be hels accountable for how the team plays. When there are players who do care and do play hard and yet you don't see that happening enough, then you have to wonder. Should he perhaps play the lazy players less and set a tone for playing hard all the time?

I think it's also wrong to try and bring LB or any other coach into this as some have over the course of this thread. In LB's case even his best friends have admitted hie was wrong and we weren't the only team to feel this way about him over his last few coaching years. The guy acted like an ass and deserved to be fired. Neither Chaney, Herb or Lenny had this team we see now, so what they did is irrelevant. Almost all of these players are new to the team, coming in after those coaches were fired. So let's give that crap a rest.

I'm not just making general statements about his coaching. I'm looking at specific things he does or doesn't do that to me show he's having a very poor year. I actually think he was better last year at motivating this team. I noticed how he's never corrected Jamal's constantly going under the pick as opposed to fighting over the pick. This leads to so many open shots and penetration. He hasn't come up with a solid help scheme so that the team plays aggressively against whoever has the ball. Many good defensive teams attack the ball handler and especially when it's not the point guard who has the ball. This leads to TO's and at the least forces the ball out of the hands of their primary ball handler. There are so many things like poor rotations on D etc. Lee, Curry and Zach don't close out on shooters or penetrators and they don't get their hands up enough. It's not about actually blocking shots, but just contesting more of them. The guys team doesn't look well coached. If you run practice in such a way that no small errror is acceptable, then your team will play that way. From what I see he's not running good practices, cuz the team always looks lost. You never see a Jerry Sloan team look like that even when you have guys like Okur who is not a gifted defender, but he does give the effort. We have guys who can play D and the guys that aren't known for it, should still be able to give max effort if you demand it. If they have to be benched the whole season until they get it, so be it.

Yeah, he did act like an ass, he didn't get a sexual harrassment suit against the garden. Seems to be a pre-requisite to keep your job there. He also didn't blame the fans for loses on multiple occasions. Plus he had his GM's support 100% right? The players were told the same things isiah said about them last night by Brown, but they went over his head and snaked him out to the GM because they are just oh so sensitive. When will the excuse making for this sorry bunch of players and lowlife gm/head coach ever end????

one question bro,

what color is the sky in your world?
