my spelling is off my spelling instructor pike is busy, that should read the early 90's knicks were a facade team, like the current pistons. they were a horrible team too watch with no realistic shot of ever winning a championship. Scoring a basketball was like a game in side a game, watching the knicks.
Ewing was a facade superstar, a Good player that never lived up too a great tag. the rest of the knicks besides Derek Harper were severely flawed Clowns.
This edition of the knicks are ten times worst, in a conference even worst than the 90's EASTERN conference. and they will not get any better.
No matter how many post\trade proposals\jokes\or discussion we have on the internet. we got to grow up and accept the fact we might not ever see a knicks or jets championship in our lifetime.
The Knicks of the late 80's and early 90s were a team that superceded it's skills. A case of the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts. Riley had a lot to do with that.
The East was the dominant conference back then, and not solely because of Chicago. Now keep in mind I'm talking about late 80s and the EARLY 90s (say till around 1993). I'd say the Houston titles marked the time when the West started it's rise to the current domination of the NBA.
And Ewing was a great player. No use trying to convince you, I know, but that is the reality. He got saddled with the likes of Starks as his 'second star'. That says a lot.
And before you tell me that I can't have it both ways, read my first paragraph. It was a team that was overachieving. Had it not been for Chicago, they would've overachieved to a championship because in the late 80's and early 90's no one from the West was going to stop them if they were on a roll.
