TK, fist of all, stop trying to conjure up wisdom visionary theories in supporting your fabricated views....I am my own, and don't you forget it ....seems like every time playa agrees with me, ICE and now you resort to jealousy rebuttals in supporting views based on ridiculous

Playa we all know you post under the id Bobby D , and no one has a problem with you using two accounts, but what do i have to do with this conversation.

If all the big men are taken, I think you have to take Sweetney from G-Town. I've watched alot of G-Town and although many aren't talking about Sweetney, he's a beast. He rebounds, scores inside and does have some post moves. Only draw back is that he's not athletic, wont fly over you and dunk on you. I actually like him better than Kahman. Sweetney's the first PF I'd draft. I DONT WANT Nick Collison(the next Danny Ferry)

negative homie.Collison has life in his body full of energetic's.This guy hustle for a rebound and can create to score on his own.he's not an all-american for nothin.he puts up doubles doubles left and right with some blocks.oh and he'll dunk on somebody (sweetney).he had 19pts. 21rebs. in his last game.ferry the stiff with a jumper only no comparison.maybe duncan

Oh, ok...

The new Knicks dynasty will dominate the East for years to come. With a frontline of Dice (the best PF in the East, tho he's yet to play in the East), Sprewell (undersized yet dominating, as well) and KT (Shaq who?) they are shoo-ins for the Finals.

Then you add a tremendous backcourt of Allan Housless (according to KO, only Ivo and Kobe are better) and Ward (who'll now have TWO full Non Chaney training camps to 'learn the system') and NY is bound to win championships for years to come!

How's that?

Hey if Layden rolls the dice and craps out, you guys would cry like babies. That is just what he did last yr. Now if Dice would have played and performed like he did in preseason we would be singing a new tune. Now this yr we want him to pick a center and keep him, but I see the best move is taking a player that someone else is coveting and make a trade with that team for a younger player like for the clippers.

haha nec: How about this..

The knicks will win the east next year behind the stellar PG duo of Charlie ward and Howard Eisley. KT again will dominate the middle, Houston will have another career year and Doleac will provide height and intimidation, doing all this while satying outside the paint. Then the blockbuster trade of Spree to Dallas for Bradley and a future 2nd round pick gives us the big man we need since we traded our 9th pick away for Ricky davis.....

I can't wait....

Here is the Bottom line since i was involved in this. BasketBall is multi year league. meaing trends that are set last for multiyears.
Meaning if you suck in this league you will suck for some years if you are good you will be good for a few years.

The knicks are not capapble of any moves next season they will help them avoid sucking.

The knicks and the east suck in the early 90 's as well that fteam was a facade like the current pistons.

Patrick ewing was a good player not a great player.

The last two points have nothing to do with the topic, so what.

my spelling is off my spelling instructor pike is busy, that should read the early 90's knicks were a facade team, like the current pistons. they were a horrible team too watch with no realistic shot of ever winning a championship. Scoring a basketball was like a game in side a game, watching the knicks.
Ewing was a facade superstar, a Good player that never lived up too a great tag. the rest of the knicks besides Derek Harper were severely flawed Clowns.
This edition of the knicks are ten times worst, in a conference even worst than the 90's EASTERN conference. and they will not get any better.
No matter how many post\trade proposals\jokes\or discussion we have on the internet. we got to grow up and accept the fact we might not ever see a knicks or jets championship in our lifetime.

The Knicks of the late 80's and early 90s were a team that superceded it's skills. A case of the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts. Riley had a lot to do with that.

The East was the dominant conference back then, and not solely because of Chicago. Now keep in mind I'm talking about late 80s and the EARLY 90s (say till around 1993). I'd say the Houston titles marked the time when the West started it's rise to the current domination of the NBA.

And Ewing was a great player. No use trying to convince you, I know, but that is the reality. He got saddled with the likes of Starks as his 'second star'. That says a lot.

And before you tell me that I can't have it both ways, read my first paragraph. It was a team that was overachieving. Had it not been for Chicago, they would've overachieved to a championship because in the late 80's and early 90's no one from the West was going to stop them if they were on a roll.

That part of your post, though, is so on point it's not even funny. At the current rate, we can rest assured NY is not going to win a title for the next 5/6 years (or at the very least till 2007, when Housless' contract runs out, and maybe Non Chaney's extensions, too).

I'm sure LayDUMB and Dolan have more bonehead moves to make, so we're looking to challenge the Rangers (54 years?) for the longest time between titles for a NY team.

Thats the same smack I heard right before we went to the finals a couple of years ago. Pessimists started whining about the season the knicks were having. Then the knicks started winning games and made it all the way up to the finals. Even though we didnt win a title in that series, that playoff run showed us that there is little difference between just barely making the playoffs and winning the eastern conference title. We are not that far away.

Looking for hope in the bleakest moments is what makes us New Yorkers and New York sports fans!

... love the optimism but you failed to mention one small minded detail... Scott Layden. Therein lies the problem, my friend.

Nice thought, but the problem is that 99 was a fluke. Therein lies the difference: between hoping "we get lucky, a break here and a break there... maybe we can win a title" and hoping for management to build a true contender. Yeah, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, but the vast majority of the times, being good will win out. Just ask the Nets (who I hoped would beat SA), or Philly.

If making the playoffs and having a nice run is your cup of tea, fantastic! I'd like my Knicks to someday have a realistic shot at the title, not hope to get lucky again.

Hey bro, don't waste your time throwing pearls among swine, these guys are blind in one eye and can't see out the other. We almost make the playoffs and our best player doesn't play a regular season game all yr and Chaney kept this team together even after spree's fiasco on boat pinky break. Cmon these guys really know the deal. We went way beyound expectations. Let other teams lose their best player and most of their fans won't see the playoffs either!

making the playoffs does not make you a good team, especially in the east, you should listen to your signature. The knicks have been a mediocre team for years and are getting worst. i love the ignorance in your post, you say almost making the playoffs, like most educated sports fans wont be able to pick up the hypocrisy of the comment, You cant over achieve playing SUB 500 basketball with the most expensive payroll in sports you lets forget that idiot notion you read in some cheap news column. You cant underacheive and miss the playoffs two times in a year with 100 million dollar player on your Roster, it's called Sucking. With mcdeyes what we make the sixth seed, in the EAST that Sucks. want to be stuck on stupid, go ahead, it's what i expect from a man that said the nets would win in 5 after dropping the first game.
