remeber that these are the point guards that i have seen since i started watching b-ball in the late 80's so no cousy or roberson will not be on this list:

10.) kenny anderson- great first step and court vision. injuries took a toll on him.

9.) tim hardaway- the best crossover dribble i have seen with the "utep two step". one of the best clutch shooters in the 90's.

8.) mark price- called "the assasin" because he could beat you in MANY ways. he had a great jumper with range and ideal court vision. too bad for injuries again.

7.) rod strickland- a darn shame he didn't make the all-star team. i thought he was the best point guard period in the late 90's. just a knucklehead.

6.) jason kidd- could go down as the top three point guards of all time if he had a ring. a bona fide franchise point guard.

5.) mark jax- a joy to watch at his prime and has the best court vision in my opinion only second to magic.

4.) kevin johnson- he did EVERYTHING a point guard could ask for. he was up there in points and assists in his prime. plus who can forget his dunk over mark eaton?

3.) john stockton- he is high on this list because well, he is the assist leader in nba history. though having malone definately made it easier but his defense for a small guard was underrated.

2.) isiah thomas- zeke was a little beast. the most competitive on this list besides mr. number 1. he lead a offensively challenged piston tema to two world championships. not to mention that he did everything well. one of the best little men to play the game.

1.) magic johnson- imo, the best player to ever play the game. he is so valuable because he is knowledgeable about the game and he can play EVERY position well which i don't know any other player in history can do. the best court vision ever and even though his biggest knock was defense, he did make some key defensive stops during his run to multiple championships.

honorable mention: gary payton, allen iverson ( though i label him a 2 guard), terrell brandon, deron williams, chris paul, sam cassell, mookie blaylock, terry porter, alvin robertson

oh i forgot nash. he would be number 7 for me. he runs a team well both in dallas and phoenix. biggest knock is his adaptation to a different tempo and defense. he is great especially this year but i feel he is slightly overrated. that is just my opinion.

"Bird stole the ball, Bird stole the ball"!

WE laughed and laughed as Isiah threw the series away.

And I was not a Celtic fan!

Marv, is that why he is on your list?

ha. one of the greatest plays ever, along with "havlicek stole the ball" and don nelson's back of the rim jumper in LA. but no, i dug isiah in his own right. one of my favorite pg's to watch, what a game he possessed and what a gutsy performer. i bet that guy would make a hell of a gm!

The sprained ankle game was one of the best performances and nearly won me over.

He got my respect but the magic kissing thing was not cool, the "Bird/White" thing just did not translate well and the Pistons were not my favorites. Thats why Riley's smash mouth low score ball was not always a favorite of mine.

Lil Penny

Yeah, I used to be a big Penny fan. Watching him during his prime was always very enjoying.
