No thats fair Zach definetly needs some major work if he wants to become an elite player. If you want that status you have to do it on both ends. So im all for having discussions in the realm of basketball not in WWJD because im sure we could go on all day about what people do or don't do off the court.

i don't think we should expect him to become a defensive player, just the same as we shouldn't expect Eddy to become one... i think we seriously need to address the team balance issue & get in a player who complements Zach's game on both ends of the floor now that he's here... i think trading Curry is out best bet to do it at this point... a guy like Brad Miller would be a MUCH better fit playing next to Zach than Eddy IMHO.

Isn't Miller a little bit too injury prone though?

Good points about Zach. The thing that I don't understand is how people get on Zach for off court problems when they were probably the same fans that use to cheer Mason on. You can't get that much worse than Mason. Mason went from shoplifting to being accused of sexually assault and a bunch of other things. Yet people loved Mason. I would still like to see if Zach get's better as the year goes on.

Back to the topic sometimes I can't believe how Zach gets a rebound without even leaving the ground. Oakley is the only other player that I can think of that did that and was successful.

Duncan does it pretty darn well, too.

No he isn't a professional.....

He takes a leave of absence from the blazers and then is found in strip clubs when he is supposed to be home taking care of family business.

Zach is fat, I don't care if he is the first one in the gym, he doesn't work on his body; Eddy lost this weight, jamal added muscle, believe what you want, it's nice he works on his game but he is soft and could really dedicate himself in the weight room.

But so far Zach has put up nice stats, turned the ball over at an alarming rate is dumb as stone and has no concept of moving the ball or playing within a team game. He has been chewed out on telecasts for standing and complaining to officials while his man beats him up the floor and scores....

Way to name guys that don't take plays off and actually play defense. You can complain about a call but not while your man is running up the court and scoring and its happen in a bunch of games already.

Sorry, I didn't realize the taking a leave of absence to go to a strip club has come up while he's here. Young people have always made bad decisions. I did, as did you I suspect.

He needs to lose weight because his weight affects his game how exactly? He doesn't rely on athleticism as a major component of his game. Boozer is the same height as Zach and actually weighs more than him (Zach listed at 260 Boozer at 266). Zach doesn't look like a body builder, but Tim Thomas does and he's far softer, and David Lee isn't muscle bound either. What do you care more about what the player looks like or what he does on the court? Would you prefer a player works on building visible muscles or work on their actual game, which is what Randolph is widely reputed to do in the gym.

Does Zach have flaws? Sure but he's a darn good player. You suggested that complaining is an indication of unprofessionalism, and I pointed to players who are widely known to complain about calls through their careers.

he's not the most durable but neither really is Eddy if u think about it... before last season, he'd never played more than 69 games in any season... Miller has at least played more than 70 games twice in his career, so i think it's pretty much just trading for team balance when u really break it down... we need a guy like him on this team, a big man who can pass out of the post effectively, shoot the midrange jumper, defend the low post & block shots... he doesn't need the offense to be focused on him to be effective the way Eddy or Zach do... i think he's a perfect fit, & w/his contract i think he's a realistic target for us right now.
