Dell Demps used to work for the Knicks btw. Was Director of Pro Player Personell and a scout. He's the one who "found" Jackie Butler.

If you really stop and think about it , what reputable experienced GM would want to come here with Dolan still at the helm ???
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

You need someone with experience. Colangelo, Kiki, Nelson or West. Greg Anthony?? no way . How can you pick this guy who ripped Zeke for taking Balkman? He can't evaluate talent. Houston --why?? how do you know he can evaluate talent? We can't go with someone with no gm experience unless you find some young guy thats an assistant gm somewhere that you like. We don't need another 3-4yrs of going no where.

don nelson saved mullin's job by making that sjax/harrington deal.

i think our gm should not be a "big name". just make sure he's a smart guy.

our coach tho, MUST be able to handle the press...which makes mark jackson a good candidate.

mark jackson is a charming and funny guy who always make fun of himself. the media would give him the benefit of the doubt for a while...

dj - agreed. Mark Jackson would have his homeboy honeymoon last just long enough to learn the media corps by their first names. In that same period the remaining guys over thirty are sliced from the roster and his assistant coaches - Billy Donovan, Allan Houston, Paul Hewitt and Patrick Ewing, can get acquainted.

The first two years will require training wheels.

After that, stand back and watch him work.
