Boy, things were bad when we had the whiners whining about the team and the whiners whining about the whiners whining about the team. Now you got the whiners whining about the whiners whining about the whiners whining about the team? This isn't a politicized forum, it’s a kindergarten.

There are varying extremes, sure, but seems obvious to me there is a substantial element here actively rooting against the Knicks because they don’t want Isiah, Marbury or (to a slightly lesser extent) Curry to succeed under any circumstances. Even if it means more years of darkness for their second favorite team.

Ain’t nothing wrong with that. More power to you. But don’t expect to go unchallenged on a Knicks fan site where yes, there are still some Knick fans. If we all accept that, I think we will all have to endure a whole lot less whining.
JUST WIN! Then all the whiners will go away. It's simple.

Actually it's more like some people here are actively rooting for Isiah to stay, even if it means, and has meant, years of darkness for their supposedly favorite team.

There is something seriously wrong with that.

And how about the people, like yourself, who think that it's out of line for people to actually be disgruntled about the Knicks present situation?

Talk about straw men.

Do me a favor and eradicate them too.

Im kind of upset that Curry has not put in any effort to rebound the basketball even though we won the game.

More and more im believing we should package Curry & Crawford together and focus on balancing the team and keeping an eye on our cap situation which could be really in a good position in yr after next.

Disgruntled? Is that really how you would describe yourself?

But don't back down from your original statement by trying to change the focus, we are off of the whining about the whiners right now.

Throwing misterearl’s handle out there doesn’t prove your point, and not only because it happens to be dead wrong. You want there to be someone out there that roots for Isiah above the Knicks because that just may be the only position more absurd than rooting against the Knicks because of Isiah.

But that poster doesn’t exist here, which leaves you and your ilk the lone extremists on a board of Knicks fans and basketball talk, making you nothing but amusing sideshows.

Honk your big red nose and look mad, Isles, we Knick fans could use something to laugh at right now.

Not backing down from anything. Where did you get that idea from?

Just making sure that you don't forget to include all kinds of straw men. Not just the ones you disagree with. I'm sure you have room on your soapbox to address that as well.

When did I say that there was someone out there that roots for Isiah above the Knicks?!? Wow, make up more stuff while you're at it.

misterearl, and others, root for Isiah to stay, mistakingly thinking and against all evidence, that they're rooting for both Isiah and the Knicks. Let that sink in RemBee. Maybe you should read it a couple of times just to make sure you grasp it completely.

Now, let's address people like yourself who think that it's out of line for people to actually be disgruntled about the Knicks present situation and want change now.

Any chance you plan on taking them on or calling them out? Oh no, that's right, unlike BlueSeats, yours is a selective campaign.

LMAO Yeah, nice try pretending that you're on the side of the disgruntled Knicks fan when you've done nothing but complain about those people since you got here. Thanks for the laugh though.

Every player may or may not have an impact on this team. History has proven certain players will step up and certain ones will take a step back.

So why shouldn't I expect Lee, Nate and Balk to have a positive impact? Why shouldn't I expect that Zach and Curry will have a positive impact? Why should anyone expect any of these guys to take a "step back"? All you're saying is that there is a "CHANCE" that one or more of these guys will be "worse" than they've shown, but you don't give any credence to the idea that they may be better. Why is your point valid, given that of all the young players only Mardy has shown any signs that this may happen?

It's all about what these players will bring to table that will produce wins. If Zach is a 15/8 guy but the Knicks win, then great... who cares that his numbers severely fell off from his final season in Portland. If Marbury has to come off the bench because he can't adaquatley incorporate Curry and Zach's strengths into the system(whatever Hodge Podge system we're running) and we look to turning the keys over to Crawful, if it produces wins who cares. You act like every single player on this team is going to have a standout yrs. Hate to break it to your gullible self that ain't happenin.
Where did I say that "every single player" would have a standout year? That's not even the point of what i've said. YOU are making that interpretation. This is something you do all the time. You're making up a false representation of my opinion. How about you stick to what I've actually said and stop trying to put words in my mouth? I also didn't say anything about numbers, YOU are the one making this a point of argument, again because you need to make up something to bash me about.

You seem to show the disdain you have for players on this team whenever you post, cuz you can't refrain from using your STUPID nicknames for the players you don't like. What are you in 2nd grade?
Posted by TrueBlue:

And Panos is right what you're trying to reason on holds absolutely no weight here you've probably been more wrong about this team than any other fan that post on this board over the past few yrs.
You have no way of proving such an outlandish claim, so please keep that crap to yourself.

We'll see how wrong I am. I don't think I was wrong about the team last year. You and others choose to discount the injuries last year only cuz this fits with your negative slant on the team and you can claim victory over anyone who thought the team had a chance at the playoffs. That's fine, but don't expect everyone here to accept your stance. No one said anything about predicting the team would be consistent last year. The idea was that the team should show progress and get better as the season went along. The team was getting better. Not totally consistent, as many would wish, but they did make some progress and that didn't stop until the injuries hit.

Moving on to the present, this team isn't perfect but few teams are. We have enough talent to win and I think Isiah will keep working with this team until they win consistently. Until the season actually starts we won't know the final answer to who is right, but that's my take on the teams chances.

LOL @ all y'all weakhearts who were cryin about a couple losses.

This threads for you.

Are you serious?

I for one, said that preseason wins and losses were meaningless. Not bothering to show up and losing by 40 points isn't meaningless. And not showing any heart the next game after that, having the other teams scrubs open up a huge lead over 4/5's of your starting lineup in the 4th quarter, isn't meaningless.

Congrats, they showed up tonight and played a tight meaningless game. There wasn't a second of that 2nd half where you thought the Celtics couldn't come back to win and if it were a regular season game I bet they would have.

My advice to you is to enjoy the last few games of preseason, don't try to make too much out of it win or lose as long as they bother to show up and I'll see you when they play Cleveland to start the season that actually counts.

i guess its that time of the month for you huh?

Haters just want to see good ball, and based on the last few years with this same CORE group one is not going to get too excited over a nice win.

haters don't want to see losers win once in a while, we prefer to see a good team give it their best win or lose.

man please give it a rest

It's funny much anger you see on this board when the Knicks win. Even in a meaningless preseason game.

But when they lose, ahhh, the mirth runneth over!

I think that its similar to politics. People see what they want to see and will stick to their convictions. And much like the conservative side, there are certain people who dislike the reality of a situation. And when the truth is presented, instead of debating it, they attack it.

You decide to label a person a hater, because you disagree. Much like Republicans like to say that liberals hate freedom. Is it more arrogance or ignorance to claim such things.

We love the Knicks, but we hate what theyve become. Isiah has proven now for 4 years he has no idea what he wants to do with this team. He doesnt understand how to match players together. James Dolan and Isiah Thomas now for two of the 4 seasons been known to be the JOKE of the league. This is the team we love. They have made it basketball's, and some say professinal sports biggest joke.

The biggest payroll, for nothing. Firing a legend and trying to make it look like he's the idiot and fool. Losing in court under unsurmountable evidence of guilt, and still claiming innocence. Losing the #2 pick in the draft. Trading and signing for veterans who serve no purpose other than to further hamper the salary cap. Getting more and more "bad character" players feeling that they can turn them around, when Dolan and Isiah are the two WORST characters.

Dont call us haters because we see reality and present it. Sure this team might be better. 38 wins? So after 5 years and 500 millions in salaries, and all thats gone on, we're HOPING for mediocrity? One win in the pre-season means nothing. Winning half your games means nothing when the team you love is considered a league wide joke.

Saying Positive impact is very generic and vague and you know it. It what sense Luva? Yeah any one of those players throughout the yr may go off for career nights, wreak havoc on defenses form time-to-time, maybe even collectively, it doesn't mean the team will win games or improve their record from last yr and including the previous yrs. The fans who have disdain are only concerned with W's and Effort and which one of such fans has said Balkman, Lee, or any other player will have a negative impact? I said the trend the past 3yrs shows some will progress and some will regress. You can only go off of what has transpired Luva but instead you go off a "what if everything is perfect scenario". Reality and Fantasy are two different things Son.

Once again clarify moreso what you mean by positive impact? And name a player that will have more of a negative impact than positive since every team has such player. If you can't then that speaks for itself. I haven't seen you post anything that shows you're going to be conerned with any player on this team. Sorry that's very unrealistic we sustain problematic players. Every rotational player last yr had positive impact on the team at some point in time and they also had plenty of negative impact our record reflected it. Starting the majority of games behind and playing catchup shows players who contribute negatively. And there have been plenty players who took a step back on the team last yr....Channing, Q, Crawford, Nate, Jeffries, Francis. Francis being a very good example of what I'm trying to explain. A player we traded for with fans trying hard to justify it like you're doing with Zach.

You were one of the fans that felt the back court combination of Francis and Marbury could work. You believed Francis would have positive impact on our season last yr, well statistically he was a nightmare, never really was in game shape all yr, and you can tell by how he played once he came back to the team and in Pre-Season for the Rockets his leg injury was never as bad as led to believe. Had to be sent away from the team. Although he was directly responsible for a about 3 wins last yr that I can recall, so you're right in respects to having some kind of positive impact but overall he hurt this club, having more of a negative impact and not of all his own doing(plenty of it had to do with coaching).

I also feel Francis presence may have contributed,(not solely responsible obviously) to Marbury being in a funk for the first couple months. Who in his own right negatively impacted our season and remember it was the first half of the season that you keep crutching to, along with the injuries as to why our season didn't fair as well as you think it could have. Steve may have had a double edge sword whammy in regards to negative impact. Channing ditto helped win some games(Detroit, Utah, or Charlotte can't remember) but overall more of a negative impact and took a step back not all of his own doing though(plenty of it had to do with coaching). Crawford literally shot us out of more games than in.

You seem to show the disdain you have for players on this team whenever you post, cuz you can't refrain from using your STUPID nicknames for the players you don't like. What are you in 2nd grade?

ROTFLOL @ you yeah Nix I'm the only one calling players nicknames(Chubby, Big Snacks, McCurry, Bundybury, IR-ich, Crawful, Special Nate, Effries, Fishlips, Z-Rapist, Doubewide, Snickerdoodle, Frankenstein) none of those coined by me but yeah I'll draw from the well and use them from time-to-time and/or make up my own. That must mean you hold many of conversations with quite a few second graders but it doesn't matter if they are talkin to a 1rst grader.

You have no way of proving such an outlandish claim, so please keep that crap to yourself.

Dont call us haters because we see reality and present it.

Frankly you have far too lofty a view of yourself if you think your views are "reality." They are opinions, and many of the opinions presented by self described "haters" (I say self-described because I have yet to refer to anyone as a hater who hasn't already proudly hoisted that term on themselves) are flawed. So don't call us "lovers" if we point those flaws out.

Is it reality to say the Knicks only showed progress last season because of an easier schedule when the records of the teams they played during that period averaged out to the Eastern Conference average, when over half of those teams ended up making the playoffs, or when that period actually included one of the toughest stretches of the season, a stretch that had the Knicks win one game above .500?

Your version of "reality" says a 41 win record and a playoff berth means "nothing". I think the "reality" is that our team would be in the playoffs for the first time in three years, and a .500 record would constitute real progress from the previous season.

Or is it that in your "reality" a 41 win record is the team's ceiling? You are free to have that opinion, but when you present that opinion as "reality" I think I'm free to call you a pretentious blowhard. Is that better than "hater?"

It's hard to address all the BS you spout. You're standards aren't higher, you're just a blowhard who get's off on ragging on this team. You assume that i'm ok with losing or mediocrity, when in fact i've never said that. I just don't get off on bashing my team especially when there's much to look forward to on this roster. You don't like many of the players, we get that. You don't like Isiah, we get that. In fact your act is tiresome. Let's just cut to the chase.

Do you think we as fans should have a reasonable expectation that this team will win more games this year or not? Do you think this team has a realistic chance to make the playoffs and that we as fans should expect just that and nothing less? If you do then there's really nothing to argue about. What I question is your rationale for endlessly bashing the team over the past and some preseason losses. Get with the program. It's a NEW SEASON and so far they've only played PRESEASON games. How about we see what the team actually does this year? You're convinced this team is no better than the team it's been the last 2 years and I disagree.

You don't like the players on this team and I do. I actually like Zach, Lee, Curry, Nate, Balkman and Chandler. I don't have a problem with Steph, Q or Jamal. If they play poorly i'll say so. While they have a Knick uni on i'll cheer for them to succeed. I loved the knicks before most of these players were born and i'll still love this team when they're gone.
