One big problem that I see with this team is Marbury. Last night he was not aggressive at all. It's like he only tries to play good against teams with a point guard that he thinks he is better than. If this was Nash, Wade, or Billups Marbury would have tried to drop 30 points. When you look at the matchup with the Celtics the main two spots that we could have beaten them out is at the pg and center spot. For a guy like Marbury to think he is the best he has to bring it every night.

Why do we keep expecting him to change. He's been in the league what 11 years? He is who he is.
That does not mean we should except that. He played against Rondo. He get's paid about 20 mil. There is no reason for he him to be half stepping. If Marbury just drives that creates open dunks for Curry and shots for Zach.

I don't accept it, I just know that it will continue along the same path.

bippity - fugedabout da money. That will not change. Players get what they can negotiate and they are entitled to every dime, including Marbury. Let's separate the money from the performance evaluation. They ALL make more money than most of us will see in a lifetime.

With that said, you are DEAD ON when you talk about the way he needs to keep his big head up and hit the freakin' open man - especially when you have TWO proven scorers who rule down low.

If Marbury has less than 9 assists per game, with the frontcourt of Curry, Zach and David Lee - by his dammie - he ain't on his j-o-b.

Get Mardy Collins up in the bullpen!

Briggs I totally agree I would trade Curry for a point or a three man and this team is so much better. You have to be efficient on offense.

I was saying over the summer to trade curry to dallas for josh howard- after dallas got pushed around by a team like GS, they might have gone for this kind of deal- Curry's value will probably never be higher.

Earl-In what post in the last year did I mention money? Please read the posters names before you respond to them. That was BigC, not me.

"and to top it off Starks got ejected...

I'm having problems..."

Alternate Summer League Rebuild Hybrid Lineup Du Jour

Collins
Nichols
Chandler
Lee
Randolph Morris

Tribe Called Quest... hehe... I remember that song.

Although just one game, losing by 40 is never good, even in some park between 10 friends playing some friendly pickup game.

i think we need jamal or q to be our 6th man...and make balkman our starting 3 to balance the team.i would personally make jamal our 6th man because q is a 3pt shooter and dosesnt demand the ball like jamal..

I think the balance is there but IT does not play the right players. You start Marbury, Q, Balkman, Lee, and Curry. That gives you a solid glue guy and defender in Balkman. A tough rebounder who can score in Lee (and hopefully hit open shoot). You have a SG who can defend and hit an open 3. You have you pg who can penetrate and seems to have more of an interest in defending now, and you have your high percentage lowpost scorer. You then bring Randolph off the bench to spell Lee and Curry and bring Crawford off the bench to spell Q and Marbury. You give spot minutes to Nate, Collins, Chandler, Jeffries, and Rose. Bingo, you have a solid first unit that should be able to defend and still score. You have offensive punch coming off the bench.

No way is Zach coming off the bench.
Either Zach or Eddy need to be traded.

I know it is not happening with Randolph coming off the bench, but IMO the team would be better off if that happened. I think there are both better when they can be the sole focus of the offense and bringing Randolph off the bench would allow each to be the feature player for most of the game. Plus, Lee is a solid pass and can help get the ball to each of them on the block.
