when I had directv, I was able to get MSG and yes, but the games would be blacked out with the exception of a few games. I would have to get the nba league pass, after the games, I could then tune into MSG or Yes to catch the post game shows...that was Ok with me, the problem I have now is that comcast doesn't even offer MSG or yes.. I hate cable companies because they are so regional oriented, I mean they give you no choices for out of region networks and believe me, the market for that is huge, especially in Atlanta where most of the people here are transplants...

just a wild grasp at straws here (& if it's not cool to post this then feel free to delete it martin):

what if i hooked up a slingbox for u out of towner bros at my NY house w/ur very own cable box w/5 mbps upstream fios connection if you agreed to split the cost of my cable & fios every month? would that be worth it to any of you? you'd be able to watch all the Knicks games, pre & post games, NY local programming, plus all the Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, Rangers, Islanders, Devils, Liberty games or whatever other NY area sporting events they show on NY cable broadcast.

I'm not even sure that would be feasible to have multiple Slingboxes hooked up on the same broadband connection either... just a thought.
