Quick Question...Why exactly is he nicknamed the Mayor?

Cause Earl said so

Au contraire, my suspicious alter-ego.

He is nicknamed The Mayor for the same skill-set he flashed in Las Vegas outside of the view of the television lens. At 6'8 and a juicy 220 lbs, Chandler (contrary to the scouting reports) has an unusual combination of shooting range, intelligence and tenacity (which translates to steals, blocks and rebounds)

This morning, he would be headed to class as a junior at DePaul.

He can play the two or the three.

While David Lee is bricking out the joint, and Quentin is not quite Quentin - they both would be wise watch their backs, and their minutes.

Wilson Chandler looked pretty good?

Pretty good?

The Game - as his campaign manager I must respectfully submit that "pretty good" is an unfair representation of what The Mayor brings to the campaign at the small forward position.

Pretty good?

Is that the best description of the good deeds, passionate defense of the common man and community service he has demonstrated?

C'mon, have you been paying attention?

"Pretty" good?

Okay, Misterearl, Chandler looked GREAT (for a rookie). He already looks like a better player than Jeffries (which is not saying much). He has to show me a little more before I would say he is a better option than Balkman or Q. But I think in 2 years, he might be the steal of the draft. He looks like a young Richard Jefferson.

He's not Balkman with a jumpshot, he's Ariza with a jumpshot. Dude is not great, but he's balanced and Q is our only other balanced player. If we have Q atthe 2 and Chandler at the 3 sharing minutes with Balkman and nobody else, then that would be a very good thing.

You know where Jeffries can get a couple of minutes? He can sub in for Eddy and play center once in a blue moon to throw off the other team. Say Nate and Balkman are in the game, having Jeffries play the 5 would actually play to his strengths (speed, versatility, rebounding) for a couple of minutes at a time.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The Game - let's not get crazy. I'm not offering The Mayor as the second coming of Doctor J or even an injured Penny Hardaway. I like what I see in his versatile game.

I hope he is here in 2 years.

The Mayor finally gets thrown into the fire, against the best player in the league, and gets some run. Can anyone help out his campaign manager/The Answer Man (who was flying Air Canada) with a descriptive report (missing dj's immortal "Live from section 404 like a big dog) on how the young man performed?

many thanks

He attacked from the get go and showed no fear in going after Cleveland. I liked his attitude and his aggressiveness. He was attacking the boards, he wasn't afraid to take shots given to him. He made some rookie mistakes on some passes but handled the ball fairly well and made some strong passes as well. His energy level was definitely noticeable. My only issue with him last night was his defense. He appeared to struggle with his footwork which may be a problem with the quicker guys at his spot. But we will have to see a few games before we can make a judgement.

Ok, now all you need to do is find 5 starters now that you think the bench is set.

He even came up with that nonsensical nickname all by himself. He truly is a hero.

I thought he got his nickname from the "Back To The Future" character..."Mayor Goldie Wilson".
