Didn't Lee play C in college , maybe he can create a lot of offensive fouls knowing he is quicker than most Centers and could play postion defense and draw charging call.

Curry being out allows Lee to start at PF. Randolph may not be a center, But he is our best option there behind Curry. He has played center on Portland as well.

Randolph, Lee, Richardson, Crawford, Marbury.

Randolph is a better player than Curry. There is nothing at Center that Curry does that makes Curry clearly a better center than Randolph. Not rebounding, not shotblocking, not passing out of the post. Lee is a better PF than Frye was a PF since Frye is a center. So its still an upgrade over last yrs frontcourt. Also Francis is eliminated from the team so the Marbury-Francis backcourt is scraped which is also an upgrade from last season. Though Francis & Marbury didn't play a ton together.

The biggest deal about the injury if it was an injury that took time away from the season would be lack of depth. Behind Randolph would be James, Morris, & Jefferies. None of those players have been impressive.

Unless this injury extends well into the season, i'm not going to overreact to it. I love how the usual suspects scream about excuses, before anyone has even offeerd up any. Just freakin relax on that already. It's preseason. Let's just hope that it's not worse than it looks and that Curry and Balk can get back soon. So many of you state over and over how insignificant Preseason is anyway, so what are you bitching about?

The team that really got hit hard by injuries is the Blazers. What we have so far doesn't compare. I just hope he heals well and this doesn't linger into the season too long.

We might outrebound the opponent 80 to 20 in every game if Zach, Lee, and Q were our starting frontcourt. If Isiah had given up 2 lottery picks and a $10 mil/yr contract for Lee and had drafted Eddy with the last pick of the 1st round, is there any doubt Lee would be in the starting lineup and Eddy would be a 6th man?

Now that we're done with that nonsense, can we come to an understanding that Isiah signed James to be his starting center and there shouldn't be any excuses if James actually has to start for the Knicks.

I'm sure I don't want to see Lee play center. He will be injured his first game if he played center at halftime. The center position is a tough spot. There is a large about of banging and bruising down there. Also you can not go by college because Big Dog Glen Robinson played center in college and he was no center in the NBA.

This is where I would start Morris and see how well he does. The kid is a natural center and can rebound and play defense. He needs to get his feet wet.

This is reminding me alot like the McDyess trade where we thought we would actually envisioned sprewell, houston and Mcdyess playing together. It never happened!

Now we look forward to seeing Curry and Zach play together in the frontcourt. Well, it looks like that will be put on hold for now!

bigbeast - Hopefully the MRI comes up with minimal damge to Eddy's shoulder. As injuries are inevitable, the roster may also sort iteslf out as the wear and tear on Marbury, and Quentin and the healing of Lee, Collins and Crawford - is revealed with playing time.

The number of NBA players already injured (Brand, May, Williams, Thomas, Ellis...) seems unusual.

Eddy's time away is an opportunity for Randolph Morris to gain bonus minutes at center in the pre season.
