But Isles, if you admit you aren't a fan of the team, why get all upset when someone points out the obvious?

And just as you feel you have the right to throw peanut shells onto the court if you don't like the players, I feel I have the right to complain loudly when a post of mine that I took the time to compose and write was deleted for no satisfactorily explained reason.

I also have the right to point out the overwhelming negativity of many of this boards posters and to counter it however I see fit.

You don’t like it Isles, don’t read it.

Since my opinion is the only one that matters allow me to chime in with my opinion on everyone:

TMS-Very fair poster. Sees the good and bad in many players. Notice that his down periods seem to coincide with the Knicks losing. Not sure what the argument is with his posting

Isles-Abrasive but honest and hilarious. I don't agree with him all the time, but guess what, so far he has been right on every count.

BasketballJones: Funniest poster on the board. Anyone that complains about him should be shot on site

Rembee: Haven't posted with you enough to know much about you but I respect that you were one of the few that responded to this post. The rest of the lot ruined my topic and should be banned from the site. PS the Knicks have been bad for a long time. I'm pretty sure that is wehre the negativity comes from. It's not surprising.

I don't think you have to like the roster or management or coach to like the Knicks. They are two seperate issues. I respect and agree with some of what Isles is saying because he is correct. Just because you are a Knicks fan doesn't mean you have to like everything about it. If Reggie Miller was hired as GM tomorrow and started to ruin the franchise would you have to support his moves in order to be a Knicks fan? Of course not. Some people don't like what Isiah has done and they have no obligation to him. If they support his moves they should say so. If they don't, they shoulc say so. The opinion of Isiah and Marbs and anyone else is independent of a fans loyalty to the NEW YORK KNICKS. Until we change the name to the New York Marbury's(which I'm hoping happens because that guy is great) or the Manhattan Isiah's why must they like these people?

Actually you're the one that doesn't seem to like it. "It" being this board.

If you don't like it, don't post here.

Don't worry, while White Bip has been soft during the summer, black Bip has been working out and is in midseason form. He will have something for this team if they don't come out ready to play. Don't you worry.

Well thanks, that hadn't occured to me.

Bippity- I have no problem with negative opinions when they are honest. Then they can be addressed and debated, this is a discussion forum after all.

But too often they aren’t honest, player’s actions and statements are deliberately skewed to fit a preformed notion that, for many posters, leaves no room for the possibility that these Knicks might do something right.

An example yesterday, Marbury’s opened his big mouth again, how dare he say “You can talk about me all day”…leaving out the bit he said afterwards, “but what we should be talking about is basketball.”…or 3/5s of the starting line-up being out due to injury is just an “excuse”…or maybe Curry and Marbury should be “executed”. I could post about Marbury’s shoe company, guarantee you I come back three hours later and there is a 320 post long “discussion” here about how dumb Marbury is, headed by the usual suspects.

This kind of invective, in my opinion, brings down the level of discussion, and I’m sorry if I have a hard time someone could harbor this much hate while still reserving some love for the team. If thats "right on every count" then I want to be wrong.

I didn’t like the MoT trade, or the Francis trade and I hated the Zach Randolph trade. That doesn’t mean I can’t recognize some signs that things might be turning around. When is it OK to applaud those signs, when the team gets 50 wins? That’s what I would call being a fair weather fan.

Case in point...where, exactly, has anyone said that they are satisfied with a 33 win team, Isles? Seriously.

If you aren't interested in having a discussion about the Knicks rather than spewing your own opinions over a forum thinking they should be lapped up, why post on a forum at all? I think Blogs are more your speed. Really, you should try it.

i love the NY Knicks... i don't love Jim Dolan, i don't love Isiah Thomas, i don't love Stephon Marbury... i want what's best for this franchise & am frustrated as hell at what those 3 have done to the image & face of this organization... we've become the laughing stock of the NBA over the past few years, & it's little wonder when you take a look at the people that are running the show & serving as the figureheads for this franchise.

i love the NY Knicks... i love the Orange & Blue...

& if lovin' the Knicks is WROOOONNGG... then i don't wanna be right!

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

You're the one that hates the confines of posting on another person's board and wants, nay expects, everyone to be all happy happy joy joy, instead of voicing their own opinions, positive AND negative.

Perhaps you should start your own blog... RemBee's Happy Place.

Just make sure it's far from here.

Again, no attempt to address my point directly, you just expect me to be cowed by your aggressive stance.

You really are quite ridiculous.

Bip, I agree with you. I'd like to hear more from Marbury too. I'd like to hear what he thinks about Imus. I also agree you need to be banned.

I've offered that suggestion to martin and andrew many times. Strangely, each time they laugh at me.

Yeah, for the first time in Marbs Knick career I am not sure I understand why people are so against him speaking out. I think what he has done the past few weeks has been great. He has provided me with so many things to think about. I can only hope that his work is allowed to continue.

You're right. He should definitely go into politics... so he can speak more about these ingenious thoughts he has on the world, family, pasta and everything else.
