We should cease all civil liberties and put electronic "identification" bugs under the skins of citizens and aliens alike, until this blows over (as if it ever will). This electronic bug will not only be your identity card, replacing passport and drivers license, but your credit card and money source as well. This way all movements and transactions can be monitored by the state, and whoever opposes the government can be satellite tracked and have their identities ad funds remotely shut down at the governments choosing.

That is the direction this country is headed, and it takes us farther and farther from the democracy, governed by and for the people, that we hope to be.

Lock our selves up more than we already are? That's pure fear and less understanding. I love the ones who say 'drop the bomb on them and it will be better'. Rediculous.

Yeah, in fact it is' built on a lot of blood, enough to fill The Salton Sea in Southern California. How can you give freedom with something that comes from so much death? Unless of course, your living 'The God Bless America, American Dream'.

Sorry thats very wrong. Gays like many minorities may have some hurdles here but they are also have parades TV shows, freedom of speech, and human rights etc. we have gays in all sorts of positions of power including in our congress.
You are talking about a countries (Iran) goverment killing them for being gay. How can that even compare to how gays live here in the USA. Go ask 1000 gays in Iran where they feel they have more rights. The USA or Iran. Oh wait they wont even admit to being gay because they know their own country will murder them for it.

Again you didn't explain:

A) Why should we care about the Gay thing so much -- Is this worth going to war for when we don't even grant Gays the right to Marry in this country? I can't stress enough how hypocritical it is. Maybe USA is nicer to GAYS but again SO WHAT? Not a justification for war.

B) Why pick on Iran? Its illegal to be gay in Poland, Latvia and Estonia too.

Basically countries under Islamic Law are going to be anti-gay. Its not about the middle east because many African countries are following Islamic law too.

Basically this is a religious issue and the USA is supposed to respect the freedom of religion and the sovereignty of foreign states to choose their own laws and social mores.
